So you agree that there must be a unity even at the expense of relinquishing ideas that do not work - even though they've been given the opportunity to demonstrate effectiveness over a long period of time? The Republican Party must address the failed policies of GWB and his party in order to move forward. The Republican Party does not want to acknowledge this truth. Until they do - I fear that this is an impediment to progress.

BB You look through a two party lens. They both suck. It is the ideas that matter. Bush did not keep the ideas that are right. Obama will not either, and to a much greater degree. IT HASN"T EVEN BEEN A MONTH. Like I said, this package will be an albatross around their necks. This sucks, not just for them, but for all of us.
My ass hurts from all of this stimulus.

Health care will be the coup de gras.
Well Purps...the right is screaming and throwing tantrums and casting out their net of fear and suspician already about this move toward the dreaded socialist healthcare...boowhwhahhhhaaaaa.
It seems that in the stimulus - yea!!!! - that there is money to begin putting all the medical records into a national database so that if you move or go to a specialist or doctor, then there won't be needless duplication of tests or charges occuring. This has the far right putting the fear into everybody about privacy...big brother is going to monitor you. Be scared they say, be very scared.
Inside that bill apparently, there is also a bit of a bill that also has something to do with flagging duplicate, unwarranted even perhaps unneccessarily costly procedures or visits. The right is warning you that the government is going to force the doctors to adhere to some sort of protocol in making sure that you have necessary physicals and tests.....good holy crap, they can take a good thing like preventative care guidelines and still turn it into an issue.
That is the start of a national healthcare system. Get the records together, set up some standards, eliminate wasteful duplication of tests, catch more corrupt businesses as they double bill or make up phoney bills..tighten it up. It's on it's way.....once it begins, it cannot be changed back - and it has begun.
