Interesting how Bush was easily trashed on rumour and heresay but questions about their candidate turns them into scrupulous investigators of the "facts" they choose to believe.

Socialism rewards mediocrity. Nothing bugs me more than mediocrity, and not rewarding excellence.

Unfettered capitalism breeds inequality and both encourages and rewards greed and corruption. Nothing bugs me more than a bunch of slimy buggers gambling and losing my money but walking away with a 25 million dollar bonus for doing so and then raking in the applause for a job well done. Nothing bugs me more than unfettered capitalism that requires socialistic policies to prop it up. sammieswife.

Yet another non-sequitur response from the enlightened one. No complaints, it is a little more thoughtful than just the usual emoticon, but not much.

Well I'm glad that you are at least able to admit that I am the enlightened one.

I don't think those who voted for Obama are zombies, but just wanted to see the good in the man...that he spoke of reason and was very understandable.

Many of those who did not vote for Obama are labeled a racist, as I was. I am not a racist, but I am more capitalist and socialist. It was Obama's socialist ties, friends, the thinking that I worried about.

I don't think it was a simple matter of wanting to 'see' good in Obama...rather it was the fact that after suffering for 8 years under Bush, watching the country spin out of control economically and financially, having so much of the energy sucked out of life by the constant fear of terrorism and then watching the administration use that fear to propel themselves forward with a war for oil...all of those things combined, created an environment that forced people to wake up and take notice. Obama is the voice of reason, the voice of change and hope. Bush and the Republicans could no longer deliver either of those things and that was most evident during the campaign when Palin tried to use race to bait with.

I think the majority of people realize that capitalism, unregulated as it became, does not work for the majority of the people and therefore, are moving beyond and quite comfortable living within a society that embraces both. People are not going to be afraid any longer - not even when they are labelled as a socialist or a communist..as most of those who supported Obama were. sammieswife.

Skeeter... that Clinton stuff has been run past "snopes" and over ruled multiple times on this forum by folks who know. If Snopes says it true then it's more true than if it's been on TV.

Lets just say the Clintons have had their share of associates that have had problems with General Aviation and Gun safety... and let it go at that.
