I knew a sister who's husband didn't want to do anything in bed that might stumble others. Well I don't know how often his bedroom activities come up in conversation. Whenever she wanted to get freaky, he would go talk to the elders and they would council her.

Two things I don't get...how the heck SO MANY MEN can be brainwashed into not doing things that are the most sought after "activities" in the real world? No oral, no manual, no anything except missionary...are you KIDDING me? And not only to abstain from doing those things, but to also turn the wife in to a bunch of other MEN for WANTING to do some of those things. Wow, just wow.

One more thing...missionary is probably one of the least enjoyable positions for a woman (alright...for ME...but I can imagine this is the same for most other women). I'm wondering if this is just another way of the GB punishing women in the Borg. The guy can "get his" but most (if not all) the time the woman is left unsatisfied because of all the damn limitations. I know many women CANNOT be satisfied with sex alone...me thinks the GB knows this and that's why they put all the restrictions up. Sexist azzholes!!!

I was counseled for saying good luck, oh my gosh, and bless you when someone sneezed.

For wearing a shirt in high school that said "No animal testing"

For being to affectionate during the meetings with my husband (just holding hands or putting our arms around eachother during the song). My husband told the elder in question that he could start worrying about the state of our marriage when we stop showing any affection to eachother.

For talking to a brother my age at the kingdom hall cause I was too young to even think about getting married.

Mama, I just wanted to say, that even though I am sure it's painful for you to talk about your experiences, it is so VITAL that you do - one more voice against this stupid religion and the way it ruins so many lives! I am so sorry for all the pain that you have endured, and I am amazed, like others have brought out, how well you have turned out, considering you didn't even get a chance to grow into a well-adjusted adult! I'm glad you are here!

    Love,
    Rachel

LOL! Yup, there's been some crazy ones!

I was nearly DFed one time for using the phrase "let me act as the Devil's advocate" in a scriptural discussion. However, they only laid 4 or 5 concrete blocks edgewise and let it go, 'cause I had a habit of turning these things around on them and embarrassing the 7734 (Hell, upside down and backwards) publically whenever they got too snotty about something. Keeping pompous asses in a state of perpetual outrage was both fun and to the public's long term benefit, I figured. After all, doesn't the proverb say "Answer a fool that he may not become wise in his own eyes."?

Sure enough, they ended up cooking up a completely false charge (which they openly admitted) and "volunteered" me to leave. I figured I didn't lose anything and they are still mad at me for not going through a world of emotional hurt because of it. (Grin) (That was about 20 years ago.)

I think one the worst ones I ever heard of was some a$$ of an elder whose son was enamored of another family's daughter. That other family didn't approve of his son and didn't want him hanging around her. The elder had a conniption fit, went barging into their home and proceeded to bawl the parents out right in front of their kids, demanding that they allow his son access to their daughter!

He has no idea how lucky he was that I wasn't the head of that family! I'd have removed his gonads with a dull saw and fed them to him, with catsup. And forget the anesthesia. I've long felt that any fool with that much arrogance is fair game and deserves anything he gets.

This attitude has paid off too. After I was DFed I expected my family to get looked down on like most families do with a DFed member. To my surprise they have been treated well, with my son's closest friends being elder's sons. In this respect, I'll happily hand it to them - they've done well in that regard.

'Nuff for now. I could go on all night.

I knew someone who went through that too. She ended up disfellowshipped. I got counseled when I was 11 for having a shoe with a 1/4 in platform in front. A whole quarter inch!! No fads, ya know. Drawing in the NWT. I made a mustache on the dinosaur. Staying in the bathroom too long. It was more fun in there then sitting in a hard chair for two hours. When I got older...wearing too long, dangly earrings. Heels too high.

    May you all have peace!

I had received a small inheritance when my father passed. It wasn't a great amount of money and so I wanted to take my time and decide how to spend it (with 2 kids, I wanted to make sure I did the best with it). Well, my ex decided that the family car (my car, actually, paid for by me; he had a pick-up truck, paid for by us) was "too small" for him and that he "needed" a larger car. Well, I wasn't so sure and needed to think about it.

Imagine my surprise when I received a "visit" from the PO and another "elder." Imagine my greater surprise when they revealed to me that my ex had some to them and complain that I "wouldn't let" him buy a car. I told the "brothers" that I had received the money as an inheritance and hadn't yet decided how I was going to spend it. Imagine my greatest surprise when they responded, "Well, a man knows if he needs a new car or not, and if he thinks the one he has is too small then he should have a larger car."

I had to bite my "ghetto" tongue. Really. Hard. And pray. Really hard. It took all the strength I had not to escort all of them out. The ex included.

Bottom line, we bought another car (yeah, I know, I know, but I just didn't have the will to fight him and them on this). But... I chose the car I wanted (which ticked the ex off, but I truly didn't care!).

Never got over that particluar "counseling" session, really. I mean, I let it go, but that was the beginning of letting them into my personal life less and less.

    Anyway...

    Peace!

Oh I bet you did! I'm not sure I could have done it...I am far too independent and am not submissive in the least...lol.

I'm glad your current husband is wonderful to you...that's how a marriage is supposed to be! :D

    James,

Oh, my aching a$$: Corvairs & service. One of my buddies was arguing with his mother while she was backing down a drive out in FS. He opened the back door and it pranged something: ripped the door off!!!

My brother had the super sports model, Corsa, I think. Service wasn't an object there

    V-Dubz were fun, too
