Oh, and I might be wrong that Christianity is wrong, but if it is right, it is still
based on decisions made by the men who met during the rule of Constantine.

So, perhaps God guided those men to enlightenment, because they believed
in THE SON OF GOD so much. Sounds very much like the formation of WTS.
That would make Catholicism the closest to the "truth" that was taught to those
    men by God, back then.

LOOK, my point was that asking "Who is God?" is an open-ended question,
leading to so much controversey. Would a Buddhist monk answer totally
different than an Islamic holy man (I don't even know what they call them.)?
I just gave some of that controversey, then suggested a personal search for
    God and understanding.

    OTWO... right on point...

Burn and other christians should not feel attacked... all religion are but perceptions... with a bunch of circular references that only make sense to those who believe... like using the bible to prove x or y point of view... what about those who think the bible is just another human book?

One thing is for sure: Everyone is entitled to his or hers opinion of God... the question is not what you believe but WHY you believe it... some can be discussed with tangible proof.. most ideas of God cannot...

I've been pondering this question as well. I'm not sure I will ever have the answers to this. I do believe in a higher power that created us and the earth. But I wonder if we as humans take ourselves so seriously, or attach more meaning to our life than need be. What I mean by this, I wonder if in some ways we are just a higher form of a mold, so to speak. Using up resources, but in the end, of really little consequence in the larger picture.

    btw - rock-on Burn - i love morrisey too!

    Who is God?

I think John Lennon summed it up pretty nice:

God is a Concept by which
    we measure our pain
    I'll say it again

I think the question should be,"What is God?" or maybe, "Where is God?

I think he would at least give us a picture of himself, or at least speak to us humans sometime. Oh, I forgot he wrote the whole bible as a way to speak to humans, but no group of religious people can agree what he is saying exactly.

I'll have to say I have no idea who he is because I haven't met him yet.

You've already made an assumption when you use the word "who".

There is no "who", the question is meaningless.

JG (as usual) said more than I can say in fewer words.

"God" cannot be put into such an anthropomorphic context.
