To my way of thinking this Professor wanted to leave something beautiful behind to people that he cared about.
Obves, why should you or anyone judge this man because he doesn't have your view or belief system? People gave him an ovation probably because they liked him ,respected him and warmed to his courage. These are all things to be applauded for surely, whatever our beliefs
