I doubt that my answer would have been the same as yours.

At one time, I too use to make the mistake of thinking that people knew or believed certain things and just wouldn't admit it. I'm sure that I've made similar statements in the past.

Be careful of what you read between the lines. Sometimes we see only what we want to see, even it's not really there.

Remember, our flaws can also include a false perception of reality.

have been on an apostate website for several months conversing on their forum with the intention of turning them

back to Jehovah. Listen to what they say. Watch how they treat you. Observe and learn. Remember, the

Truth doesn't hide in the dark and in secret, so come out of your closet. Over the next few weeks, watch them

watch you.

But, in all sincerity, the congregation overseers are simply just servants of the FDS (I use that term loosely). I never have

been judgmental of the rank and file nor the congregational level elders. Most of them are blind to the real and hidden

goings-on on an organizational level, and imo the vast majority of them are pretty decent folks just blindly doing what

they think they are supposed to do to serve God. Many of them try to balance showing love and dispensing discipline.

The "powers that be" in the WTS are hidden and secretive. No one knows who they are. It's the organization that scares me

and whom I direct my animosity toward. They know exactly what they are doing and that's why they want to keep their

flock dumbed down. Knowledge is power and they know that. That's why they want to keep their followers in the dark.

But, back to your BOE. You may not get reproved immediately. They will have to wait for a company man, aka the

circuit overseer, before you get your "official" ass-kicking. But, if they ever find out the true extent of your participation,

and if a company man ever hears about it, just remember: We're here to help you get through it.

That is because as many posters have said, we are not controlled by anyone.

There are many views on this forum, some "believers", some not, some of many different faiths - that makes it like the real world - not like the superficial uniform world of the Kingdom Halls.

That uniformity is not obtained through being "like-minded in The Truth" - it is obtained through control and fear.

You are effectively walking back into Ancient Egypt - saying "make me a captive again".

Has anyone here tried to stand between you and God ?

Have we taken any money from you ?Have we made you "work for salvation" ?Have we convinced you that one thing is true, only to sneakily change it later ?Is there just spiritual milk here - or are there things that you can sink your teeth into ?Has anyone here controlled you ?

poppers ... I know that people can be loving and caring and not be JWs. We are created in God's image and God is LOVE. It's the route we get to him that matters.
Lady Liberty .. I read your post and can appreciate your concerns. The way I see it .. there are still things wrong in the organization .. will be as long as we are imperfect. No biggy to me.

Ok, you need a serious wake up Miss holier than thou! Have you ever even read the bible, or just the crap spewd out by the WTS?

From the viewpoint of the bible and Christianity:

The elders don't want you know one basic truth about the bible Rose....there is not a damn thing any human can do to warrent salvation, if there was Jesus died in vain right? It's a free gift remember?? If it was simply a matter of attending your meetings, studying and telling other people you are right and they are wrong, he must have been pretty dumb to go ahead and die right?

Galatians 1:6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

I suggest if you really truly believe as a Christian, you study the bible versus the WTS rags and ask yourself, was this in the bible or has it been added? Does the bible not tell us to hate what is wicked? Is corrupting the meaning and message of the bible wicked? I would say yes. If you continue to bury your head in the sand, that's your choice my dear. But before you go rallying to the side of the JW's and say they are the true religion, you should carefully choose your words. According to the bible, there are severe consequences for that kind of mentality.
