greendawn ... I do understand why some leave. My thought is that we should all do our best to serve God and the only true way is through his organization. Of course it is flawed .. has to be .. we are all flawed.

Why is one flawed organization better than any other flawed organization?

    1. How do you justify claiming to be following God and the Bible while at the same time insulting others for no good reason? Doesn't "The Golden Rule" or whatever prohibit you from doing that? If not, that's not a God I would ever want to worship, if he doesn't know about basic decency.

    2. You feel *you* should be worshiping God. You do not possess the right to decide what others should be doing with their lives, as long as what they're doing doesn't hurt others or the Earth.

    3. I am skeptical of people who need to proclaim themselves to be religious. That is a personal matter, so I can only guess as to why anyone would need to announce it to others.

rebel ... show me where I insulted someone. I could have and if I did I apologize.

    2 ... I don't decide what anyone should believe.

3 ... I never used the word 'religious or religion'.

    Dear Rosalee,

How many times can the faulty interpretation of questionable chronolgy be revamped before it is deemed meaningless?

At some point, one must admit, they were wrong.

    We were duped.

When one studies other apocalyptic groups it becomes evident that much of JWism is not original or unique.

No need to impute malicious motives.

The organization is simply founded on false premises.

What is proven to be false by the passage of time is false.

The very fact that you need answers, I do too, is a product of the conditioning.

    It's ok to not know.

    To be uncertain.

Never assume something to be real just because it makes you feel better.

So, how do we, as flawed individuals, determine which flawed organization is the one that has "God's direction"?

As I do believe in the Bible, it shows me that God gives us free will .. the right to choose what we will do with our lives.

Sorry the bible does not show that, religion is trying to make you believe that but it does not teach that we have free will. According to the bible we "sin" even when we do not want to "sin", that is not free will. The only reason you believe in the bible is because the WTBTS feeds you what they want you to know about it, they depend on the bible to be able to control people so they will never give out information that would put doubt in peoples mind about it being the "word of god".

It boils down to the fact that we are polar opposites in our beliefs.

Rosalee, you are so funny sometimes. First you observe (correctly) that you received a wide variety of responses to your vent. Some were kind, some were zingers, and some won't miss you at all. How can all these various responders be lumped together as "polar opposites"? It seems even here there are people who are more or less compatible with you. That's not "polar opposite". I think you protest too long and too loudly, and have much more in common with some of us than you dare to admit.

So many of you seem so nice, I can't believe you're not Witnesses.

Here we get back to your mixing of honesty and truth with opinion. You've decided what you will believe, then express surprise that some don't fit your mold. Maybe your mold is flawed. Maybe there are great and loving people who love God and follow Him outside of the organization. Maybe just maybe.

Janet ... if you put a little effort into really reading my post ... I mean that we are polar opposites in Scriptural or doctrinal beliefs. Many of us are alike in our sincerity. Clear?
