If a strip club and a casino opened up in my area and Minimus also moved into the house across the road I'd be fine about it. Just no Kingdom Halls please.

Places like that need to be in a properly zoned commercial area. As long as they aren't just
placed in a neighborhood, I don't see a big deal if they are out there at the "strip" mall.

Many towns/cities have ordinances that prohibit a strip club from opening within so many hundred
feet of residences. I think that's a good idea.

A community has the right to determine what kind of businesses operate near their schools and
churches and homes. Settling the issue when people get upset is never easy.

The one that gets me is when some kind of business is in an area before residents move in. Say,
an airport is there, and homes pop up. Later, the residents decide that business shouldn't be around
all the residents and try to shut it down. Wasn't the airport there before? Didn't you notice it?

Don't count on it ... I was up North this summer, visiting family in a town of 500 people in the middle of nowhere. There was a strip club. I couldn't believe it. I didn't go out of fear of being eaten alive for being a non-local, but I was almost tempted to.
