    26. Do you or any members of YOUR IMMEDIATE FAMILY have a history of NERVOUS or EMOTIONAL DISORDERS?
(e.g. major depression, panic attacks, chemical imbalance, paranoia, schizophrenia, attempted suicide) ( )Yes ( )No
    If yes, explain:

They want to know about the applicant and the family as well? That's asking a lot! If the family are JW's do you suppose the information filters back to their congregation? If the family are not JW's would they really want WT to have this information on file?

They're not asking as health professionals, simply as HR representatives. Is this even legal?

What's very disturbing to me, both here evidenced in this application and also when reading the new CD from Barbara Anderson is their continued insistance of linking homosexuality with pedophilia. There is no connection. Pedophilia is a distinct type of attraction that certain men and women have for children. Healthy homosexuals are attracted to others of consenting age, just as healthy heterosexuals are attracted to others of consenting age. There are pedophiles masquerading as both, however I believe the statistic I saw was something like 97 or 98 percent are living as heterosexuals.

Still, this misinformation from the dark ages, is passed around as fact in some churches even today when medical science and psychology prove otherwise.

Someone asked if this questionnaire is legal. Yes, churches are allowed to discriminate. They are not held to the anti-discrimination laws of business and corporate America.

so are you saying that Bethel will not accept a low hour, previously judicially dealt with, immoral, rap music listener, that watches R-rated movies with homosexual tendencies that lean toward little kids and has been smokin' a little weed on the side because you have a bit of a weight issue and have to use an inhaler and don't have a perfectly clean slate of health and talks funny and a bit of a hearing problem? Did I leave anything out?

Except for the pedophile disqualification (which they added a few years ago finally), I think Bethel is a bit picky? Is that why they are only taking perfect 19-21 year old males that are perfect specimens of the master JW race?

    Just wondering.

After WAC's arrival at Bethel they added one more question to the form.

"Have you ever molested a blowup doll?"

    j/k WAC!!!

Here are some of the answers I would supply if they ever shoved one of those applications in my face:

I listen to a lot of rap music, including 50 Cent. In fact, The Massacre by 50 Cent is my favorite CD. I also have more than 500 rap CDs, plus numerous heavy metal CDs from the late 1980s and early 1990s including Skid Row, Slaughter, and Metallica. Great music.

I have images of lesbian porn in my computer, and I sometimes watch that. Good viewing.

My service hours in the past six months have been precisely zero. Why? Because I don't give a fxxx. Also, I have no intention of ever going in service again.

Some of my favorite reading material include Crisis of Conscience by Raymond Franz, science material that refutes the Watchtower Society's position on many issues, and books about ancient Greek philosophy including Aristotelian philosophy. I have read some of the books by Frank Wallace, who is a follower and believer in Aristotelian philosophy about minimalist rules and regulations. Those books make much more sense than anything the Puketower Society has ever put out.

I insist on taking my Ouija board with me, along with a Christmas tree and as many decorations as I can fit in the room. I also want to start a side business of making and selling Christmas decorations while in Beth Hell, for the purpose of stumbling as many other Beth Hellites as possible into celebrating Christmas. I also intend to play Christmas music out loud during the "family" meals to disrupt the Kingdumb Maladies and the prayers, and some rap music when Christmas music is out of season.

Hopefully that will be the last time they ever shove one of these in my face.

WAC, If you were to provide the entire application in PDF format to the entire forum, perhaps we would begin submitting mass amounts of applications. muahahahaha that would be fun ;)

(practical jokes were my main coping mechanism during my borg years--be rebellious, send a message, then claim you were joking!!)

I think the days when it was difficult to get to bethel are gone. There is a shortage nowadays. There is a brother in my congregation who is not even allowed to read the WT or at the book study because he annoys everyone, especially the elders. Yet a few times now he has gone to bethel to do some temporary work for them because he has a certain skill.

If he is not even worthy to read at the meetings, how come he is acceptable to bethel?

If this had been the application back when I went to Bethel, not to sure if I would had made it, evil music and the occasional R-rated movie. Not to mention quite a few guys I worked with would not have been there.

I have no idea if the military has an "application" per se, but if they do, would be interesting to see what their questions are (especially emotional/psychology questions). Both are institutional driven life-styles.

If you answered yes to molesting a child, wouldn't the rule of two witnesses apply? If you answered yes to being gay, wouldn't the rule of two witnesses apply?

Actually with the sending of many Bethelites home, there is no more need at Bethel. The plan is to cut and run to Patterson.

Do you listen to any heavy metal, RAP, or other music inappropriate for a Christian? (See g93 6/7 pp. 3-11.) ( )Yes ( )No
Do you watch material inappropriate for Christians, such as R-rated movies/videos? (See g92 11/8 pp. 4-10.) ( )Yes ( )No

Is it not odd that they do not ask these q's (formally at least) to my knowledge , of potential Ministerial Servants and Elders.?

One can be fit to shepherd the flock but not fit to stack mags at Bethel
