Depressed witness going door to door

  We served in A city the population under 10000. My son told me it was dreadful going door to door.

  Since he was in high school the probability of calling on someone he knew was high. Poor kid, hell

  it was tough for me because I work at the town main manufacturing plant that employed A large number

  of town people.So in small towns you really are calling on your neighbors. Then I talk too A young

  man , he lived in A city the population under 3000, he was 16 at the time. His brothers and sister were

  the only young people in the cong. Last I heard he and one of his brothers left the borg. Over the years he have tried

  to commit suicide two or three times.

  I was talking about the time when I was first contacted and started studying. I was making the point that you can't get to know a JW unless you buy into the religion. Until then, it's impossible to develop a real freindship with them. Their only reason for spending time with a "worldly" person is to convert them.

  In my previous post, I was wondering what would have happened if as I was studying I had invited them to do something normal, like go bowling or something. They probably would have given me a blank stare.

  I remember my mother and father putting us on the streets, in front of the casino's of Las Vegas to hand out literature. Pre-teen children, on the strip, after dark, handing out literature. And this was back in the day when there was a slew of people handing out pornographic literature as well. Needless to say, we were extremely embarrassed and I know I for one would have rather had the other literature to look at than what I was schilling to folks walking by. I can't even imagine how any responsible parent would let their child work door to door or on the street in this world. Too many kids go missing. Too many weirdos and chi-mo's. The most ineffective way of getting your message out, is door to door. Way to keep up with the times JW's.
