Where do we go from here?

    But now what? - nvr

    Hi nvr,

There is no "solution." Besides, we are not being consulted. America is a corporatocracy. All decisions go to the highest bidder. America was bought and paid for before we were born. If you think you have an opinion, it's because it has been sold to you by public relations firms. Actually, we are media consumers. Media producers tell us what to think and are paid for by vested interests. Corporate interests are making the United States a "third world country."

The Wealth Extraction Machine knows no borders except gated communities. Who cares if small town America is being destroyed by Big Box Stores owned by multinationals? The elite don't have to live there. We do. But when we see our [non-elite] communities and families destroyed by the aftermath of global economic forces, who are we told by corporate media to blame? The illegal immigrants. How ironic and sad.

I for one have to laugh (a very weary laugh) at those over-socialized-law-and-order types who want everyone to "obey the law." Do they even know the law? They are probably breaking several laws without even knowing it every day. Fuck the law. Use it when you need it. Break it when you have to, but do so discreetly. Remember, the law isn't about right or wrong. There are perfectly right things in the world that are illegal, and there are perfectly wrong things that are legal. Governments, led by business interests, attempt to impose authoritarian statutes to get humans to conform to the rigid needs of the system. Run afoul of the system, and you get to participate as chattel in the prison business. One way or another, they are going to make money off of you.

Maybe there is a solution after all. Real communities provide needed networks of social support for people. Real communities are deterents to real crime and are far more effective than laws and statutes which depend on an operational police state in order to be effective. Does anyone want to live in a police state?

    Dave

If you are White and have Money, you are able to cross any border you please

Not so. I know of a white, average couple - man and woman, who applied for and had to wait almost 2 years for their acceptance into the USA. They did it legally. It cost them $$. In fact, the man is an American citizen who moved out of the country to live with his wife and they now wanted to return. They had to prove they could support themselves, had enough money so as not to use the USA welfare system and all other questions. In addition, for any of you who have had never had to go through the process legally - it is mandatory that you get a medical exam that you pay for yourself. The test includes TB which is quickly rising through the US and is becoming resistant to current vaccinations - much of the spread is due to an influx of illegal immigrants that carry the disease and it is spread through close contact. Just a few things to consider when we keep screaming how elitist the system is.....sammieswife.

The only reason for him to be jumping through these hoops, and not to be allowed back is because he renouced his citizenship apon leaving. Bad Idea, Very Bad Idea.

Or he joined the legion to get french citizenship which is cool they just give you a totaly new name and ID. Then later should want to go home you have to use your old name and ID which is tuff if you married in france under your new id.

OK the USA got bombs, got military, but on moral issues, of right and wrong. Lets try to put all the indoctrination we recieved from infancy aside, and ask: Who the F##k is the USA that they can claim ownership this land.

Frankie...Why don't you perform a little test for the rest of the country? Why don't you go ahead and adopt an entire illegal immigrant family. Now keep in mind, that they already have a home in another country....but because they want to come to America, and since America according to you has to atone for being the worst country ever to inhabit this earth, then you as an American need to open up your household to accomodate the wishes of this immigrant family. You need to share all of your resources and open your household up to whoever wants to come in. No criminal background checks, no measure of health risk, doesn't matter if they speak English, doesn't matter if they are able to work or not. They'll give you a token amount of rent (tax) of lets say $20 bucks a month.

Now go ahead and invite them into share your household for as long as they want to stay. Mi casa, Su casa. What's mine is yours.

It's a no brainer right Frankie?

frankie, what you said is excately what's wrong with this country. people are always looking back, and saying, well, we took this land from the indians, we kept blacks as slaves, yadda yadda yadda, yes, these were despicable acts, but, those looking at the past, have their backs to the future. we can point fingers all day long, and blame each other, but, where is that gonna get us? we need to be a united people. when you look at a person, you shouldn't see a black guy, or a white guy, you should see a fellow american. i'm tired of all the races driving a wedge between us. we all need to unite and love each other, and try to make this country better.

    Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

He was born and raised in the USA. Married in the USA and he and his wife first lived in the USA in the 60's/70's. She still has her social security number. They moved out of the country to hers - he did not give up his citizenship - he became a permanent residence which is an entirely different thing. They both worked the entire time and have in the past paid taxes to both countries. They simply wanted to return back to the USA after 25 years so that they can be closer to their kids and siblings. In order to move back now - since Homeland Security has shut the American gates so tight - regardless of their previous residency and his citizenship, she had to apply for a green card. He wasn't about to leave her behind. It took them 2 years to get all this done and get approved.

I am married to a US citizen and have gone through the legalities. I fully understand all sides of the issues. If the USA wanted to stop the illegal immigration they could - easily. Just shut off the pipeline to cash. Instead, one of the latest blow ups came when Chertoff from Homeland Security tried to force the Canadian government to have all their citizens fingerprinted before allowing them entry to the USA. Canada said no - the USA got ticked off and stomped away in a huff. Why the $#$! should the USA demand a Canadian fingerprint when there are 20 million people here without??? I was never fingerprinted until I came to the USA - so think about this - why is it that only citizens and/or legal residents and felons are fingerprinted here - but you have anywhere from 12-20 million people who never go through this? Whats the point? Whats the point of enforcing vaccinations, medical exams including TB tests on citizens and felons but allowing 12-20 million others to wander around unchecked? None of it makes sense to me....swife
