Where do we go from here?
But now what? - nvr
Hi nvr,
There is no "solution." Besides, we are not being consulted. America is a corporatocracy. All decisions go to the highest bidder. America was bought and paid for before we were born. If you think you have an opinion, it's because it has been sold to you by public relations firms. Actually, we are media consumers. Media producers tell us what to think and are paid for by vested interests. Corporate interests are making the United States a "third world country."
The Wealth Extraction Machine knows no borders except gated communities. Who cares if small town America is being destroyed by Big Box Stores owned by multinationals? The elite don't have to live there. We do. But when we see our [non-elite] communities and families destroyed by the aftermath of global economic forces, who are we told by corporate media to blame? The illegal immigrants. How ironic and sad.
I for one have to laugh (a very weary laugh) at those over-socialized-law-and-order types who want everyone to "obey the law." Do they even know the law? They are probably breaking several laws without even knowing it every day. Fuck the law. Use it when you need it. Break it when you have to, but do so discreetly. Remember, the law isn't about right or wrong. There are perfectly right things in the world that are illegal, and there are perfectly wrong things that are legal. Governments, led by business interests, attempt to impose authoritarian statutes to get humans to conform to the rigid needs of the system. Run afoul of the system, and you get to participate as chattel in the prison business. One way or another, they are going to make money off of you.
Maybe there is a solution after all. Real communities provide needed networks of social support for people. Real communities are deterents to real crime and are far more effective than laws and statutes which depend on an operational police state in order to be effective. Does anyone want to live in a police state?
