The Twilight Zone was a no-no.

Charles Angels because it was pretty much glorified porn.

I also remember a CO saying that watching Magnum PI was wrong because one of the guys on the show use to be a JW and was df'd, so it was like inviting a DF'd person into your home.

Soap Operas because they promoted sex. And really if you were at home with time to watch soap operas, you should be out in service.

    Cartoons because they promoted violence.

Any heavy metal at all was an absolute no-no.

Dungeons and Dragons. Any war game of any kind.

For those JWs who think that Disney movies especially animations are safe:

Snow White (evil stepmother turns into witch)

Cinderella (fairies turn pumpkin into coach)

Sleeping Beauty (witch turns into dragon)

Beauty and the Beast (evil spell turns man into beast)

    Little Mermaid (evil witch)

    hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

    I wonder who that was.

George Benson has be df'd at least twice. I suppose with singers you should store their albums in a hidden place in case they are reinstated.

    Prince, e.g.

Michael Jackson, probably better to throw those out.

I remember a country song from the late 70's/early 80's called Amazing Grace. It wasnt a religious song.

The lyrics were "Amazing grace, used to be her favorite song, lord where has my good girl gone?" My Dad got pissed at me for singing that. ---- I guess we couldnt be glorfying christendom

Jesus Christ, Superstar. Can't remember if it was condemned in the literature, or from the platform. The Last Temptation of Christ.

Anything by the band Creed. My daughter was told they were a Christian band. She used to carry around an article in her purse in which one of the band members stated that they were NOT a Christian band. So then she got branded "unsubmissive" for being able to refute with printed quotes the powers that be;) The song "What If" is what actually led me to start thinking independently about my whole JW experience.

Goosebumps books. LOL, one of the elders sons had a whole room full of those books given to them by their grandma (nonJW). They were relegated to the shed when their parents learned they were banned. My kids got them from their cousins and kept them under their matresses. They didn't know I knew they had them, heh heh. I was just glad they were READING.

I know of Bethelites that would go to tape duplication, grab blank Kingdom Melodies cassette shells, open them up, and transfer their "heavy metal" cassette tape into them. Then they could listen to their favorite music while running the press. Yep, they got caught....guess the head banging motion doesn't quite match the kingdom melodies...

    ROFLMHO

Teletubbies are being accused of promoting homosexuality. I bet they'll soon be on the WTS witch-hunt list
