You say you're not from Texas
Man as if I couldn't tell
You think you pull your boots on right
And wear your hat so well
So pardon me my laughter
'Cause I sure do understand
Even Moses got excited
When he saw the promised land
That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
But Texas wants you anyway
That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
But Texas wants you anyway
See I was born and raised in Texas
And it means so much to me
Though my girl comes from down in Georgia
We were up in Tennessee
And as we were driving down the highway
She asked me baby what's so great
How come you're always going on
About your Lone Star State
I said that's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
But Texas wants you anyway
That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
But Texas wants you anyway
Oh the road it looked so lovely
As she stood there on the side
And she grew smaller in my mirror
As I watched her wave goodbye
Those boys from Carolina
They sure enough could sing
But when they came on down to Texas
We all showed them how to swing
Now David's on the radio
And old Champ's still on the guitar
And Uncle Walt he's home with Heidi
Hiding in her loving arms
That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
But Texas wants you anyway
That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
But Texas wants you anyway
They're OK in Oklahoma
Up in Arkansas they're fair
But those old folks in Missouri
They don't even know you're there
But at a dance hall down in Texas
That's the finest place to be
The women they all look beautiful
And the men will buy your beer for free
And they'll say that's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
But Texas wants you anyway
That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
But Texas wants you anyway
So won't you let me help you Mister
Just pull your hat down the way I do
And buy your pants just a little longer
And next time somebody laughs at you
You just tell 'em you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
But Texas wants you anyway
That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
But Texas wants you anyway -

I'll bring a greek village salad. That's right, I'm not from Texas, but Texas got me anyway! I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as soon as I could.

Texas Women - Hank Williams, Jr.
I've got some fond memories of San Angelo, and I've seen some beauty queens in El Paso, but the best lookin women that I've ever seen, have all been in Texas and all wearin jeans
Chorus:
I'm a country plowboy, not an urban cowboy, and I dont ride bulls but I have fought some men, drive a pickup truck, trust in God and luck and I live to love Texas women.
I thought I'd seen beauty in faraway places, till I looked upon those Houston faces, spent Hollywood nights up in Beverly Hills, but they werent nothin like one night down in BROWNSVILLE
Repeat Chorus
I'm a pretty fair judge of the opposite sex, and I aint seen nothin that will touch em' yet, they may be from Waco or out in Lampassas, but one thing about it they all come from Texas.
Repeat Chorus
I'm an Oiler fan not a soccer man, and my arms are red and so is my blood, and they make it boil with that soft Texas drawl and I love em all, Texas women. -

I love that song Lisa. I've got it on my hard drive. Let me play it now.
Can you hear it? Reminds me of my high school days (ah for a 30 inch waist again)
So anyone coming in, we just had a real frog strangler pass this way. 80 mph winds that blew one of my trees over.
And darkness fell over the jungle . . . . . .

That was some storm wasn't it Cris ? Our electric was off for over an hour and we lost a few shingles. I hope it didn't hurt anybody. And I wonder if Scarborough Faire had any damage? It will be soaking wet there for sure.

you know that storm that passed over your neck of the woods yesterday, Amy? It came straight here. I lost power for hours...hell, I don't know when it came back since I'd gone to bed.
And more rain today.../sigh
