I don't think it's any big deal. It is a very cunning move on their part. It makes the members feel that they are being dealt w/honestly and up front by a humble organization who now wants to make it right.

Very sneaky; just like any abuser who uses their ability to keep their victim's off guard.

I believe you're right Blondie. Exonerated would imply NO GUILT.

This is not a doctrinal change. I can see that it was probably forced by the good research by many ex-JWs on this subject.

I am not a lawyer but "exonerated" means they were proven not to be guilty, "dropped" has the meaning that the charges could have been true but the government chose not to pursue further prosecution.

You're absolutely right, Blondie. They were charged with "Interfering with the recruitment of troops during wartime" proscribed by the 1917 Espionage Act. The charge was one which technically, they were quite probably guilty of and they were never exonerated

However the act itself was an unconstitutional piece of legislation brought on by the sheer hysteria of wartime and a number of other individuals and groups besides the Bible Students were prosecuted and imprisoned. Eugene Debs, a Socialist party figure of the time was sentenced to 10 years in prison for publicly criticizing the Espionage Act and was not released until Harding pardoned him in 1921.

Most of the loyal witnesses will glorify the GB once again for their humility in making changes and how Jehovah continues to bless them with new light.

Will the "How Can Blood Save Your Life?" booklet be next? Kerry Louderback-Wood sure found alot of errors in just a few pages.

P277 (18) "Remaining anointed ones" changed to "if any anointed ones still survive" - change of thought?

hmm, I thought that this was something from the bible (or their interpretation of it) That some would not die but asscent in a blink of the eye or something?

anyway, another boundary for the length of the time of the end removed

I'm guessing that this new and improved Revelation book info is the "big announcement"
If it is in the September KM, then it will have an entire Service Meeting part dedicated
to discussing the changes in the book and possibly a letter from the Society to be read.
    Not exactly a big announcement.

    Mystery here?

On the WT-CD 2005, Revelation Climax, page 277, paragraph 18:

    ***

re chap. 38 p. 277 par. 18 Praise Jah for His Judgments! ***

    18

The prophetic description of events in Psalm 45 confirms that order. First the enthroned King rides forth to the conquest of his enemies. (Verses 1-7) Then the marriage is performed, the heavenly bride being attended on earth by her virgin companions, the great crowd. (Verses 8-15) Next the marriage becomes fruitful, with resurrected mankind being raised to perfection under oversight of "princes in all the earth." (Verses 16, 17) What glorious blessings accompany the marriage of the Lamb!

The only place that "remaining anointed ones" is listed in that book is:

    ***

    re chap. 36 p. 259 par. 5 The Great City Devastated ***

    5

Whom does this angel with great authority use in heralding such amazing news before mankind? Why, it is the very people that are released as a result of that fall, the remaining anointed ones on earth, the John class. From 1914 to 1918, these suffered greatly at the hands of Babylon the Great, but in 1918 the Lord Jehovah and his "messenger of the [Abrahamic] covenant," Jesus Christ, began judgment with "the house of God," those professing to be Christians. Thus apostate Christendom was brought to trial. (Malachi 3:1; 1 Peter 4:17) Her tremendous bloodguilt incurred during the first world war, her complicity in persecuting Jehovah’s faithful witnesses, and her Babylonish creeds did not help her in the time of judgment; nor did any other part of Babylon the Great merit God’s approval.—Compare Isaiah 13:1-9.

    Hmmmmmmmmm?

Anyway, the WTS teaches at that marriage of the Marriage of the Lamb takes place shortly after the great tribulation starts and all false religion (Babylon the Great) has been destroyed and are in heaven (or most are in heaven). That is where the confusion arrives, do all the 144,000 have to be dead, resurrected to life in heaven, before the wedding can take place?

    ***

re chap. 38 pp. 276-277 pars. 16-17 Praise Jah for His Judgments! ***

    16

After decades of testing, Paul himself could declare: "I have fought the fine fight, I have run the course to the finish, I have observed the faith. From this time on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me as a reward in that day, yet not only to me, but also to all those who have loved his manifestation." (2 Timothy 4:7, 8) The apostle’s sealing appears to have been complete, even though he was still in the flesh and would yet face martyrdom. Similarly, the time must come when all remaining ones on earth of the 144,000 will have been sealed individually as belonging to Jehovah. (2 Timothy 2:19) This will be when the Lamb’s wife will have fully prepared herself—the great majority of the 144,000 having already received their heavenly reward and those still on earth having been finally approved and sealed as faithful ones.

    17

At this point in Jehovah’s timetable, when the sealing of the 144,000 has reached completion, the angels release the four winds of the great tribulation. (Revelation 7:1-3) First, judgment is executed on harlotlike Babylon the Great. The victorious Christ next moves on quickly to Armageddon to destroy the rest of Satan’s organization on earth and, finally, to abyss Satan and his demons. (Revelation 19:11–20:3) No doubt, anointed ones who survive on earth will soon enter into their heavenly reward to join their fellow members of the bride class. Then, amid a setting of universal peace, the marriage of the Lamb can take place!

You would think so, but of the 6.6 million very few will be discerning.
