I played golf with a guy on Friday that said a fad in the 80's was a mushroom that only grew in cow dung?

Was he pulling my leg? He said it sent you on a LSD type trip.

I told him I would not put anything in my mouth that came from any dung, maybe use it as a topical solution, but not orally.

Psilocybe Cubensis, grow through-out the Gulf region on cow dung... The clandestine(indoor lab) produced variety are grown in a wood chip medium...

Around here in the Pacific Northwest we have Psilocybe Cyanescens that grow on decaying wood and grass....

Yeah, both strains produce a psychedelic state of conscience...

Here in Pennsylvania........the mushroom mines that are utilizing old limestone mines use nothing but horse manure to grow the mushrooms. The depleted manure is then sold in garden centers as mushroom manure. Very good stuff!

Now as for the cow manure halucinogenic 'shrooms........I don't know about them.

I don't know about them growing in cow dung. They used to grow wild in fields we named them magic mushrooms. Kind of produced a mild psychedelic state. We used to make tea out of them. God that was a blast from the past.

This isn't a mushroom but I just though about it since halucinogens have sort of been the sub-topic. And.....this stuff is legal.

Here in the midwest they grow psychedelic mushrooms in cow manure. Guess what they taste like? Cow Maure.

That's why you wash 'em off really good before you brew/cook them up in whatever you will be eating them with.

breeze . . .that's okay. I can't imagine what you would experience ( head wise ) if you combined trippin'

on the 'shrooms with believing " The End " was going to happen any day, especially if it was 1975.

That's some scary stuff... no mushroom shall pass these lips unless they come shrink-wrapped from the super market. There are just far too many poisonous ones out there to be picking them in the wild.
