I wish I could remember my last meeting, but for the last few years they all blended together. I left because I always felt really crappy emotionally and physically it wasn't until later on that I realized all of the doctrinal issues.

My last official meeting was the 2005 memorial. However, the last "real" meeting I attended was when the CO stated from the platform with great emphasis: "We don't think we have the truth we KNOW we have the truth."

That was it, I was out of there forever... except for one last memorial that I couldn't get out of.

My last one was a Sunday meeting in oct of last year. I probably wouldnt have atteneded that one except I was set to be the watchtower reader and I didnt want to miss it and call more attention to myself than I needed to if I was going to fade.

Despite wanting to be a fader, on the other hand I was tempted to go completely the otherway too. If I ever wanted to make a statement and how many more times would I have the chance to be on the platform like that? Since I hadnt told my family anything and some were in attendance, I had to take a pass...... Which is a nice way to say that I found an excuse to be a wuss.

Wow, I had to think on this one. But I believe my last meeting was the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend in 2003. My parents were in town and I was flipping out right before thinking that I might get df'd during their visit(that would have been fun!). I had just been visited by the elders about dirtclod.com, so I figured the axe was about to fall.

But yeah, that was my last meeting. I didn't even show up to the kh for my jc meeting.

My almost last meeting was the WT study that described the Mennonites as despicable because (and only because) they shunned a young couple who began studying with the Dubz.

Can you say hypocritical?

To Vitty: We "apostates" made up 1975?? What's to make up? Did we also make up 1874 and 1914?? The concept of apostates wasn't even around back then. Who's to blame for that fiasco? Everything the WT ever predicts bites them in the ass later on. How can apostates get into the printing press room, knock out the guards, start the presses during the night, re-write the lying articles, fool the shipping department AFTER fooling the proofreading department, then send the mags (rags) to all the congregations, hold a gun to the head of every WT conductor and MAKE them claim 1975 against their will. Boy, that was easy. If I ever go for my doctorate, I should do a study on how low cult members will stoop in order to twist, deny, and defend lies so they can look good. I think Hitler at least was honest about his beliefs and goals, wicked though they were. It seems that more people in the world who aren't JW's are hoping Armageddon (or some sort of it) will come just so they don't have to listen to the WT bullshit any longer. At least someday those buildings will be gone, or at least the people in them, and there won't be any more door to door hypocrites. I wonder how many decades it will take? Maybe in 50 years, my grandchildren won't have to deal with these idiots anymore. Either the WT will have imploded, been outlawed, killed by the real god, or will all die off. I live near the Space Center in FLA. Maybe someday they'll take the GB and send them to another planet, followed by a huge ship with all the rest. One way ticket only.

I haven't totally walked away yet. I hate the hypocrisy. I hate the attitude
of some of those in authority. They don't represent Christ or his Father
well.

I hate the denial. I was there to witness all that happened over 1975. I
wrote letters of protest over what was published. All the things said
now by Watchtower writers about faith and date setting,
I said to them then. They scolded me for not believing. I wish I'd saved
the letters. I cleaned house about five years ago and threw away all the
old pioneer letters and personal letters from them.

Do I believe the doctrines? Yes, I believe the basic doctrines. Do I think
the olderer men back at Bethel represent Jehovah and speak with a prophet's
voice. No. The sole voice of Jehovah to men is Christ and the Bible.

I'd think better of those in authority if they stuck to the plain word. I
could overlook past stupidity if we got a clearly worded, "We were fools
and we're sorry" from them. I'd come back if they cleaned house.

Dear brother, I know you lurk here. One of your sort told me, "we keep close
tabs on apostates." Well, I'm not an apostate. I'm here to tell you that
your house is dirty. You have elders who sin, and you allow them to persist
in their office. You ignore complaints of wrongdoing. You hide the truth
about our past. Your actions have hurt the brotherhood, have they not? If
you ask how, think of those who took your advice on divorce and pornea, only
to have you change your mind. Where was the scholarship to begin with? The
problem is you're too self-assured that you ignore the plain statements in
The Word in preference to your personal opinion. All these things are wrong!
Fix them!
