Okay can't help thinking these elders are getting their sexual fantasies filled with this sh_t. They get off with the images of all the details of the porn, then they disfellowship the other guy while they say they were just doing their job. I would love for one to question me, I would give them every intinmate detail of my weekend, of the porn we watched to the 10 times of loving making, Then when i saw their erection would ask if they were having unclean thoughts make sure all there was another witness to it so that the tables were turned. I just don't see how it is anybody's business what two people do. The only person that we have to answer to is GOD. Having hearing a JC committe meeting, the elder reminded me of my divorce hearing and the ex's atty, some of his questioning sounded the same. I wonder if he is a JW? He in our divoced did ask me about me having ex with other men, I looked at him and the judge and my ex and told them that what I did behind close doors without my children home was none of their business. He then throws a picture of me that i had posted on yahoo, out on the table that had been blown up to an 8 x 10 and asked me if i thougt it was appropriated for a mother of five children. I looked at the picture I told him to look at the picture, then I said, My children have seen me in the same outfit many times, and the fact that for the age of 41( at time of divorce) i looked damn good, yes I think it was appropriate. That picture sat on top of all other papers for two hours, I caught him glimpsing at it several times. I have attached the picture so you don't have to go to my yahoo account , have more pic there but a couple are pushing that edge, with me eating a cherry and all LOL Sorry if i have offended anyone, but think sex is a wonderful thing God created and when two people compliment each other it is even better, and If you enjoy the porn to even make things more spicey so be it. ( I know I am consider an unbeliever, and that I am looked at corrupting the JWs ) However, I will have to answer to GOD only for my actions.

    Leolaia,

There is absolutely nothing in the BOE letter (nor in the 7/15/06 Watchtower "Questions From Readers" which also mentions child porn) that mentions the criminality of the act. Nor is there anything mentioning reporting such acts to the police / FBI.

I will see if I can get a scan for someone to post. I'm at work so it's a little difficult here, and my equipment at home is rather dinosaur-ish.

You're right, Warlock and Leolaia. But you must remember that Watchtower leaders still don't really view child molestation and related things as crimes. They view them as sexual sins of a relatively minor nature -- far less serious than "fornication" or "adultery" by adults with adults. Proof of this is seen in that they're still far more concerned about smoking by JWs than about JWs molesting children.

Why this is so, I can only speculate. I suspect that it's because so many prominent Watchtower officials have committed some form of child molestation that the Governing Body wants to keep a lid on the situation by minimizing references to it, and never mentioning, much less ackowledging, the criminality of these acts.

They have a problem with viewing porn.... but they don't seem to have as big of a problem if your spouse does the dirty with an animal or someone else of the same sex.

Sodomy (or the unnatural intercourse of one male with another male as with a female), Lesbianism (or the homosexual relations between women), and bestiality (or the unnatural sexual relations by man or woman with an animal) are not Scriptural grounds for divorce.

    w72 1/1 p. 32 Questions From Readers ***

While both homosexuality and bestiality are disgusting perversions, in the case of neither one is the marriage tie broken. It is broken only by acts that make an individual "one flesh" with a person of the opposite sex other than his or her legal marriage mate.

After initial visit one elder will continue to meet w/the brother and check on him.

Interesting, what about sisters? They assume sisters aren't tempted to look at it? They assume husbands wouldn't be upset by that?

I recall that Jaracz or one of his cronies actually commented on a elder-molestation case exactly that way - namely, that it was a shame

that they were forced to remove a good brother just because he did some molestation to a girl.

This sick organization can't fall quickly enough for me.

Does the prohibition cause the problem which in turn reinforces the notion that a prohibition is needed?

Good point, PrimateDave. This was just what I was thinking, and the article you provided a link to was very interesting.

In this--and so many other--areas, rules have been laid out and justified, people have been shunned and vilified, and strong emotion has attached itself to such rules. Where is common sense? Where, among those who claim to be Christian, is the recognition that men are not to be "masters over your faith?"

Forgotten and buried by the rumbling avalanche of rules, rules and more rules--created by the frustrated, neurotic and angry Guardians.

Why do they have to overcomplicate things? Don't the elders get sick to death of having to scrutinize every detail of matters like this?

Next thing you know you'll be asked to provide a copy of it for each elder. HAHAHA!

I wouldn't buy porn so as not to support the industry, some people there force women to participate in photos or films eg women abducted from Eastern Europe.

Alot of the foreign stuff is really creepy. You actually feel bad for the participants. Regardless, in sunny Southern California its a legitmate industry. I had a friend that worked at Chi Chi La Rue's office. In the bathroom they have all of those gov't compliance posters (ie: minimum wage, family leave act, etc). But, what was really ironic was a flyer for sexual harrassment in the workplace. hmmm

The interesting thing is that the Society elsewhere attests to the horrific nature of the child porn and its criminality:

    *** g82 6/22 p. 8 "Baby Pros" and "Kiddie Porn" ***

Or consider the sickness that’s evident when pornographers photograph and pedophiles (those who lust after children) buy pictures of a seven-month-old girl with her legs spread apart. Psychologists Victor Cline and Frank Osanka scoff at the idea that pornography is a "victimless crime." Osanka says: "Child pornography is nothing less than the photographic record of the sexual abuse of children, and the severe psychological effect of that has been clearly established." Cline says: "The potential for real psychological harm from continual exposure to pornography is significant.

    *** g86 12/22 pp. 8-9 The Pornography Plague—Resist It! ***

Annually, children by the thousands—often just tots—are sexually abused, some by their neighbors and family friends, others by incestuous practices of their own parents and other family members. Porn plays a big part in suggesting that this abuse is acceptable. Thousands more are kidnapped, raped, and prostituted by sexually depraved pornographers. What an unfeeling betrayal of innocent, defenseless children! "Sons are an inheritance from Jehovah," the Bible says. (Psalm 127:3) Your family members need to respect that inheritance and its Source and not entertain unwholesome attitudes toward the young in their own or other families. Sexual abuse of minors does physical and emotional damage and corrupts. It is a cruel lie to say that children are benefited by such abuse.

And there is no clear statement that the possession of it is a serious crime or that you can go to jail for viewing it. These statements, while surely condemning kiddie porn, fall quite short... they are focused on the criminality of those who produce it, not on the criminality of pedophiles collecting and viewing it. These people simply "entertain unwholesome attitudes towards the young", just as those who view other kinds of porn have "unwholesome attitudes towards women". The approach in these statements is along the lines of, "Do you realize that this form of pornography is not as innocent as it seems?" rather than "What you're doing is wrong and against the law".
