How sarcasm (irony?) saved my life (WARNING: Sensitive)

Tears come again, blurry, can't see the road. Oh, right...the beginning. Drive through the tears, they aren't particularly sad tears, they surely aren't happy...they are just tears. Emptying what little was left to empty. Dumping the trash. Smirk at that thought.

I identified with that statement. Sometimes, when I do let it out I'll keep telling myself that it's not tears of happiness or pain. They're just tears. Just me emptying the trash that's inside my heart. And I'll definitely smirk at that thought tonight.

Auldsoul....that post hit me deeply. I'm glad you're still here my friend.

    all the best to you,

    jojochan.

Hey Auld Soul. You impress the heck out of me every time you write something. I wish I had your insight, wit, and power of expression. You're one heck of a person so I REALLY hope you can overcome those negative feelings about yourself. This is probably dumb, but I always told myself that if things just got too much for me to handle, I'd just drop everything and go fishing...for a long time if necessary...

You don't know---you don't know!---how great your part in this world really is, and even on this board alone how great a part you play in our lives. For your wife's sake alone, I am overwhelmingly grateful that you were able to find a way thru the lies and get some help. I thank all on this board who gave such help to you as you needed!!!

AS, I have always appreciated your insight, but especially the respect that you give to every person. You are a truly remarkable human being, and one that many of us would love to meet in person. I find in you a very clear reflection of many qualitites of God (honest, meek, respectful, passionate, graceful, thoughtful, humorous, good, kind), and this alone trumps the stunted scales of "usefulness" which our society puts forth for self-assessment.

I thank God you are safe, and that you are taking what medications you need. The world desperately needs more "AuldSouls", never one less.

    AuldSoul,

I'll call you out. By all means, if you're not enough of a grown-up to read this, don't. It may offend your sensibilities. That goes for anyone else too.

I read self-serving garbage like you wrote above, and it frankly bothers me. At the gym, I saw a TV show about kids with horrible birth defects (cleft plates, no faces, etc). They seemed happy and full of life. They weren't moping around. Walking back from the gym, I saw a man in a wheel-chair. I didn't see him reaching for any razorblades or a shotgun. People today have it too easy, or just aren't tough enough mentally.

I'm just sick of the whining and the garbage. Grow up. I'm ceratinly not tickling your ears.

    my 2 cents,
    silent

By the rivers of babylon, there we sat down
Ye-eah we wept, when we remembered zion.

By the rivers of babylon, there we sat down
Ye-eah we wept, when we remembered zion.

    When the wicked
    Carried us away in captivity
    Required from us a song
Now how shall we sing the lords song in a strange land

    When the wicked
    Carried us away in captivity
    Requiering of us a song
Now how shall we sing the lords song in a strange land

Let the words of our mouth and the meditations of our heart
Be acceptable in thy sight here tonight

By the rivers of babylon, there we sat down
Ye-eah we wept, when we remembered zion.

By the rivers of babylon (dark tears of babylon)
There we sat down (you got to sing a song)
Ye-eah we wept, (sing a song of love)
When we remember zion. (yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah)

By the rivers of babylon (rough bits of babylon)
There we sat down (you hear the people cry)
Ye-eah we wept, (they need their God)
When we remember zion. (ooh, have the power)

    "silent",

You really should have stayed 'silent'!

    Silent:

Those people you mention may have seemed happy and full of life but things are not always as they seem. You don't know that they never have been to the edge of despair and thought about taking their life. Many put on a happy face when they are with others or in public because they don't want to bring other's down. Many do not trust to tell others when they are in despair because they are afraid they will get a callous uncaring response like the one you gave to Auld Soul. Obviously they have good reason not to trust others with their true feelings.

Sometimes it is better to remain silent when you don't know what you are talking about. Your 2 cents worth wasn't worth 2 cents.

It amazes me sometimes the depths of cruelty people will sink to. You'll 'call him out'? For what? What do you think this is, some bar and you think your testosterone overloaded brain has been offended? Geez dude, quit watching so many Schwazneggar movies.

It took a helluva lot of guts to say what Auld Sould did. That you don't see it says more about your lack of maturity, perception and intelligence than it does Auld Soul.

Wallow in your own misery, don't foist it on the rest of us.
