    I live in southern California.

The traffic is better today. I stayed away from any place I think might have protesters etc. I ran into them a few times a few weeks ago. Pissed me off big time as they were in my way of traffic, and it took forever to go around them.

It was great to not have to fight so much traffic today, and we made sure to contribute to the economy too. I am all for LEGAL immigration. Come here legally, the welcome mat is out. Sneak over the border and one should not be rewarded with low income subsidized housing, welfare and free medical care, and free schooling.

So I sure don't know what the answer is, but in 1863 we outlawed slavery in this country. Unfortunately, we now have a whole segment of our society without rights, who are basically in economic and political slavery.

Sawn, The irony is: They are willing slaves.

Do we see illegal Canadians coming into the U.S.? Maybe some, but not like Mexico, because Canada takes care of its people.

hubert, that was funny on more levels than you can possibly imagine.

Well, I feel sorry for them and they want to work so bad...I give them work although I don't pay them directly...The Lawn business I hire pays their salary. Yes, I know they don't make a decent wage... That is why I am for making them legal. alt

If the US had invested 10% of the money we are pissing away in Iraq in the infrastructure of Mexico, there would be no need for illegal immigration.

Nothing personal amos but thats a really really stupid comment... Dude if you think that´s stupid, then you need to take off the fArking blinders and examine the situation rather than jump on board the red'herring train like so many others. I didn´t want to say this, but could it be the cult mentality that keeps you from being aware? Watch closely now. Mexico and the US have always shared borders so crossing the border is not something new. The US has permitted various abuses against the general Mexican population by its' government (stealing, no planning, drug trafficing, no investments, no job creation etc) rather than step in as it has done in so many othe places (Panama comes to mind) just bacause the Mexican Gov't supposedly holds "free" elections. Castro holds elections too just to put it in perspective. Rather than help its' neighboring countries (NEIGHBOR!) buid jobs, fight crime and corruption, educate its' kids etc., the US uses Mexico as a "farm" for cheap unskilled labor. Note that the US has helped INDIA build her tech-base over the past two decades and that we now farm some 20 million jobs to her. Obviously Mexico didn't get picked for this help because that would put a dent in the number of people who sneak over to help put roofs on houses for minimum wage. Indians (for example) can't sneak over by wading the RIo Bravo. They are not coming here to live, they are coming to work and send a portion of those wages back to their families. If the US threw a few dollars at Mexico to provide needed projects not only would it help an awful lot of people, it would provide jobs which would mean that THEY WOULDN'T COME HERE! Instead we have spent the equivalent dollar amount of providing a brand new house for every family in FL, GA, AL, MS, and LA breaking stuff in Iraq and then hiring Bush cronies like Halliburton to build it up at markups that make the $600 toilet seat seem like a bargain. Meanwhile the illegal Mexicans who do cross pay Social Security taxes (which they will never collect,) Income Taxes which they will never get a refund on, highway taxes on roads they can't drive on, school taxes for which they have no kids to send and you feel sorry for yourself because they are here? Who do you think is re-constructing NewOrleans by the way? Give me a break, take two steps back and really look at what's going on around you.

    Dude, Only CITIZENS can vote!

Very good, moron! And if they get blanket amnesty which is what Bush the Idiot wants, what does that make them? Are you stupid or obtuse? So the rest of your arguement goes out the window!

The only real crime they commit is to be one extra on top of 300 MILLION people looking for work. Big Farking Deal.If they are competing with you for a job or something I say it's your own darn fault for being such a minimum wage kind of person and not having skills.

Again, moron, you are making an arguement of assumption. First, they are affecting me by lowering the wage scale. "Oh, but it's only unskilled labor," you may respond. Yes, that is true but let me tell you something. My 16 year old wants to work but can't get a summer job. You know why? Because the fast food joints, that most American citizens used to enter the work force in the past, are taken by the dirt cheap illegals. They are labor that won't be seasonal. Labor that won't complain when they are mistreated. As far as the rest of your statement, you obviously have no clue as to what I do for a living or whether or not I am educating myself. Based on your arguements heretofore, I would even question your education.

As far as the usual whine goes yes they pay employment taxes (which they never get back) and pay property taxes which fund schools. Of course 99% of illegal immigrants leave their families in their home countries anyway so schools are not an issue. The foreign looking children in CA schools were born here which makes them US Citizens.

What's your point? The amount of money the the illegal alien population drains from the California economy is out there for public viewing. Too bad you never read it. That much is obvious based on your statements. Go educate yourself. There is nothing worse than ascertions in the guise of arguement. Here's a suggestion, before you run your mouth telling me that I have no clue, why don't you come to California and see what a cesspool this state has become due to the influx of the illegal alien.

Are you advocating discriminating against US citizens because they are not white?
When did I ever say that? Oh wait, I know what this is. This is the race card. The last resort of the intelectually defeated. So you conceded victory?

Links for you to educate yourself.
