Is The Day Without Immigrants effecting you?
Im not going to get into the debate here just answer the original question. It'll prolly get ignored though
Where I work there is a legal and an illegal. They both showed up right on time today. I asked them about it and they said. "Hell no we arent going to protest. We like this country and want to be good workers." I shit you not thats what they said.

Neither the "day without immigrants" effected me nor the protest that was done on Monday effected me. What is interesting is that there was so much hype about it, but if I had not seen it on the new, I would have never known it happened. The day went off without a hitch.

Just a question - what exactly does the government do with all the money that they collect from the 'illegals'? I heard some report on the news that the government has collected a lot of money from them via the use of stolen SSN's. One number was used in 42 States - they can't ever collect on this money so what happens to it? One employer used one SSN for a family of 4 but employed them all. Just wondering..sammieswife.

This was the same argument that the tomato farmers made after the Brassero program was ended in the mid 60's ( I may be incorrect on the date). Guess what? The tomato growers begin using automated pickers. There was a problem with the tomatoes being too round for the automated pickers, and guess what, again? The tomatoes were geneticaly altered to be more oblong than round.
So based on this and other facts, I seriously doubt that there would be sustained $10 head of lettuce on the market. Perhaps there would be a price spike, but, again, nothing sustained.

As far as Social Security, it stay in the Social Security trust fund and keeps the Social Security system afloat for a few more years.

I come to this site to enjoy debating (and perhaps learning) with/from people with differnt views then my own but when I read posts like those of Amos, it's just frustrating. Is it really too much to ask someone to do some research and put together an educated opinion?

My thoughts on the protest are simple if I was in charge I would have had riot police stop every single protester and by nightfall I would be deporting them by the f*cking bus load! They have no rights to 'peaceably assemble' they ARE NOT CITIZENS! They want that they can go get those rights in their own f*cking country!
