Today we do not have trash pick up because of the day with out Immigrants.

Here is the article from my local newspaper.

    http://www.thesunchronicle.com/articles/2006/05/01/city/city8.txt

Trash pickup pushed back in city, North

The nationwide work boycott by immi grants planned for today means there will be no trash pickup in Attleboro or North Attle boro, delaying collection one day this week for all residents.

Because 39 of the 66 workers employed by Waste Management -- which collects trash in the city and North Attleboro - plan to stay home today there will not be enough workers to collect in those locations, according to the company.
Other communities will have their normal schedule, but the delay also pertains to yard waste.

Those whose trash is normally collected today will have it picked up on Tuesday; Tuesday's collection will be on Wednesday and so on.

Is the day without Immigrants effecting you? How do you feel about this? Good? Bad? Indifferent?

    Best Regards,

    Chrystal

I work at a Hispanic-Targeted Ad Agency. 95% of employees here are of hispanic descent, but we only have one actual Mexican that's been here for 5 years. Last week she was going on and on about how she was not coming to work today because, even though she is legal, she supports the protest. Well, I just saw here walk in the office today, so I guess she is supporting them in 'spirit'.
Me, I am hispanic but I'm not mexican, nor would I support the boycotts or protests if I were. I think supporting a cause for people that don't pay taxes, refuse to learn the language and are adamant in changing a country that's not theirs into the one they just left, it's wrong.

Seems that the anti-Hispanics are getting a beat down as more people are becoming aware of why illegal immigration exists.

Really, just compare it to whether or not you would steal bread to feed your starving family and you will approximate the "illegality" of entering the US (from a 3rd world country) to find work.

If the US had invested 10% of the money we are pissing away in Iraq in the infrastructure of Mexico, there would be no need for illegal immigration. Rabid Bush supporters are usually the most vocal opponents of under-the-table immigration as well.

    Just not logical

Well, seeing as how I've just had my morning coffee and haven't even stepped outside yet, it hasn't affected me at all.

    Does Mexico have a government?

Why don't they help their own people out, then?

MinisterAmos makes many incorrect ascertions here:

Seems that the anti-Hispanics are getting a beat down as more people are becoming aware of why illegal immigration exists.

There are two reasons why illegal immigration exists in the U.S. First, they represent cheap labor for the multinational corporations that are currently ruining the middle class in America, which, for the most part, are represented by the Republican Party.

Secondly, the illegal immigrants represent another 12 million cheap votes for the Democratic Party. Either way you slice it the middle class gets sqeezed.

As far as the "beat-down." I don't think so. I honestly believe that these million hombre marches will only steel the resolve of true Americans to force the House to do something to stop this ILLEGAL invasion. There is one element of the American population that is getting the "beat down." That is the black population. Unfortunately, they are being sold out by black politicians that are interested in one thing only...not going back to work in the private sector, were results are expected. In order to do this, the black politicans must sell-out their black constituancy for the cheap votes of the illegal alien.

Really, just compare it to whether or not you would steal bread to feed your starving family and you will approximate the "illegality" of entering the US (from a 3rd world country) to find ;work.

I and those of us that are against illegal immigration don't have an issue with immigration per se. However, why should they be allowed to get here illegally and never have to learn the language, never have to assimilate, and only want the benefits of citizenship with out ever having to pay the price for it. I wonder "Minister" Amos if you are aware of how Mexico treats its illeagal aliens that are coming in from the various Central American countries. Read up on it, but I doubt you will since your post is full of misinformation. After all, the same case that you make for Mexican illegals coming into this country can be made for those Central Americans immigrating illegaly into Mexico.

If the US had invested 10% of the money we are pissing away in Iraq in the infrastructure of Mexico, there would be no need for illegal immigration. ; Rabid Bush supporters are usually the most vocal opponents of ;under-the-table immigration as well.

How about this for an idea? Why doesn't the Mexican government reform itself? Why should America bail out that corrupt cesspool? Why should the American taxpayer not only be burdened with illegals & their anchor babies, but also the whole sewr of a country that is Mexico?

It is one of the larger exporters of oil to the world (I am not sure where it stands, but I believe it is in the top 10), and use that money for its people, instead of lining the pockets of the corrupt government officials and ruling class. The issue is not throwing money at Mexico, it is an issue of Mexico doing what is right for its people.

Your last sentence really demonstrates to me just how ignorant you are about this issue. Therefore, in order to justify your ignorance you go for the ad hominem attack. This typical of a person that is bankrupt of ideas, or ways to argue a salient point.
