    Interesting read from the past.

    I wonder if the new effort to baptize kids in their pre-teens is helping or hurting retention. 

    I can see where there would be greater pressure on a JW kid who is baptized to avoid getting DFd.  However, they might do that by leading the double lifestyle and deny deny deny.  Based on the recent Elder School videos, there is the present trend to play hardball in JCs and I hear of quite a few teens getting the boot when their hormones surge.

    I miss just about all of the posters from page 1 of this thread.

    From my point of view, nothing has changed over the past 11 years. The majority of kids raised as JWs leave, never to return.

    The latest hysterical screeds condemning "higher education", in the most forceful language I can ever recall, indicates that the dam has never been plugged. Kids are smart enough to realize that the end isn't going to be any time "soon", go to college, get a dose of rational thinking, and buh-bye, Watchtower.
