My sister told me the other day that at the end of June a friend of her's is moving to Detroit and I will need to move out. I was hurt at first but I understand why now. She loves children but she has very little patience for them. I know she loves my son but he can be very vexing because of his hyperactivity. She offered to help me move and she has been very sweet about the whole thing. She assumed I would stick around Detroit but I am starting to think that this could be an opportunity for me to get out of Michigan and see more of the world. I hate to say it but I have only been out of the state a couple of times. So, I am asking for help everyone. Where oh where is a good place to live? I need a place with a decent economy, good schools for my son and a good mass transit system. I am not looking for help in moving or anything like that just ideas! I am kind of scared at the idea of living so far away from my family but I am also excited!

Come to Eastern Montgomery County in Pennsylvania. It's a HUGE suburb of Philadelphia. There are tons of great schools, excellent hospitals, public transportation, different races, pretty trees, and all in a convenient location just outside of Philadelphia. Good luck!

Seattle is expensive but really cool. I would say anywhere in the Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia area. Kitsap county is really laid back also with tons of parks. You get your choice of mountains or ocean or city all within an hour of each other.

Hey Funch, Pennsylvania was one of the places I was thinking of. I will look into it more. Thanks for the links!

Liquid, I am intrigued by Seattle but I need more info. From what I have heard it rains alot! What is so great about it? I do have a few friends who live in the area though...

You could always move to NY, oppisite Brooklyn HQ of JWs, that way when Armageddon comes, er...soon, you know could be anytime now, you could quickly duck into the HQ, and wait till it's all over, seeing they will be safe.

After that, sneak away, and live anywhere you want FREE!

What's nice about my area is that you are an hour and a half from New York City and two and a half hours from DC. You can travel to the Jersey Shore, or gamble in Atlantic City, or drive to the Delaware beaches, or visit the harbor and aquarium in Baltimore. You're near several major shopping malls. There are major amusement parks nearby (Six Flags Great Adventure, Hershey Park, Dorney Park, and Sesame Place). Plus, authentic cheesesteaks and soft pretzels.

Seattle does rain a lot. It can be gray all too long. But it's a beautiful city. I think Seattle has some things going for it. Great scuba diving just up the road in Edmonds where Princess and Mr Princess live. There are a lot of really decent ex jws up there.

I think you should move to Maui. It's that paradise that you've always been promised. You know about paradise, the one that's showing up before long????

Come to Portland!! It's only a few hours from Seattle, so you can still do all the fun stuff up there. It's less expensive than Seattle. No sales tax, and you NEVER have to pump your own gas!!

We have great public transit. It does rain quite a bit, but you are close to skiing, hiking, lots of wilderness, and the beach is only a couple hours away. Portland is a great city.

And, of course, there is the Ex-JW community here to welcome you!

    Think about it.....

Aww Mystla you are so sweet! I am taking everything into consideration right now. I need to get out more...LOL

Gizmo, I will remember your offer

Thanks bunches Funches! Like I said it is one of the places I have been considering.

Although, I hear the Aussies are lots of fun! I don't really have any appreciable talents though, so, I doubt they'd want me

LB hon I don't think I could afford paradise just yet! I wish!
