Did Jeremiah refute the validity of the Mosaic/Levitical Law?
by doubtful innow that i no longer view the bible as one big harmonious collection of inspired works, i find myself asking some interesting questions.
one question that appears to have not yet been addressed on this board is the issue of whether or not the prophet jeremiah endorsed the law.
a couple of things he said would seem to indicate that whatever was passed off as the law covenant in his day, was not something he felt to have been divinely inspired.

How much longer can the Watchtower survive in its current form???
by doubtful ini find it amazing that a religious movement predicting the end of the world for almost 150 years, still maintains a following!
soon, all the older zealots will be dead, the baby-boomer jws will be old and retired, and the bulk of the jw labor force will consist of all the "worldly music - listening", facebook using, living as close to the edge of wt standards as possible, youth of today.
as they mature, grow older and began to seek social status for themselves among other jws by pursuing appointments like ms and elder, they will probably morph into a replica of their parents.

Bethel Apostates are the True Faithful and Discreet Slave
by doubtful inthere is absolutely nothing "discreet" about the old "governor's body".
they parade themselves around like celebrities, show up to give talks in foreign countries where they don't even speak the language, and plaster their pictures all over their magazines.
they also make more references to themselves than any sane group people in their right mind ever should.

Can you be appointed as an Elder while attending college?
by doubtful inwhat is the current stance on this issue?
i've heard of a lot of ms who were going to university, and yet i've never heard of that being the case for elders.
someone on this board also mentioned recently that they knew of man who was denied appointment as an elder despite otherwise excellent qualifications because he was a college student.

Do JWs really believe that the Spirit gives them the words they need to speak?
by doubtful inthe one refreshing thing about jws is that unlike the pentecostal denominations and some of the weird evangelical guys..they don't really buy into the whole "gifts of spirit" thing.
witnesses don't fall on the ground and spazz out.
they don't spontaneously shout out in an incomprehensible, ficticious language.

Why is sex suddenly pure and holy after you receive a marriage certificate?
by doubtful in...but gross and detestable any time before marriage.
if a witness couple who are engaged to one another, decide to express their love toward each other by engaging in sexual intercourse just weeks or even days before they're officially married, they are considered to be loathsome, unclean people.
the witness girl would be seen by others in the hall as a dirty little whore...and the guy would just be thought of as a horny young man who couldn't keep it in his pants.
