Got a giggle out of this
by Uncertain ini signed up on a free dating site over the weekend, just for "practice " talking to normal guys.
i got notification of a get together at an oldies club for dancing and conversation.
the club is called j dubs.

Elder visit, you guys are GOOD!
by Uncertain inthe half-hearted knock at the door (why yes, i do have a working doorbell) came as i was replacing a worn-out wall socket.
here were the leader of my book study (also he is the husband of my former study conductor) and anoter fella doing the after-study service.
we were friendly and chatty and then i was asked what church i was going to now.

Verses you will not hear quoted at a B.S.
by Uncertain injohn 6:39 niv "and this is the will of him who sent me, that i shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day.
also john 6:37. no mention of jesus only here for the 144,000 or that the fds will be making distinction between those worth saving.
in fact the whole section treats all equally.

WT Finances shaky?
by Uncertain inwith the dollar devaluing, the real estate market in the usa tanking and the biggest growth in jws coming from the lower income areas, i'll bet they are in financial hurt.
bigger hurt than the protestants down the street, or the bottomless coffers of the roman catholics.. as the r and f ages, they realize that they must take any measures they can to provide for their "golden years" and are probably reducing donations.
and as the children leave the fold, they will be less likely to support mom and dad giving their estate to the fds.

Now I've gone and done it
by Uncertain inas part of my churchly visits while working on my uncertainty, i took communion at a baptist church.
i was baptized twenty-three years ago so it was all on the up and up, at least in protestant christendom.
it had been years, and it was a very moving experience.

What the C.O. said right there on the Platform
by Uncertain inhe started his talk before rev.bookstudy with all the gloom and doom news and then dropped the (to me) bombshell that he reads the news on line.
yup, i could hear an intake of breath through the hall.
i can't for the life of me remember what the rest of his talk was, although he used a box of crayolas as a prop.

A funny thing happened on the way to the Hall...
by Uncertain insomehow, i wound up at a local baptist church.
folks were friendly and welcoming, the hyms made musical and verbal sense (mostly, one was about praising his name but never actually used a name except lord)) and the public talk (umm sermon) was taken from luke 13-34 inclusive.
there was no jumping to unconnected verses and no buzz words instead of logic.

Two witness question
by Uncertain inhebrews 10:28, mat 18:16, dt 19:15. are these the source for the rule that requires two witnesses before believing something happened?
same chapter of dt as (21) soul will be for soul, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, fot for foot.
it certainly looks like this is intended to protect from false witness, not as a get out of jail card for the perp.

Rev Climax page 119
by Uncertain inthe box says that interpretations belong to god, uses genesis 40:8 and romans 15:4. must be so, the fds published it.
then why are they printing all these trees of paper providing interpretation?
i'm just sayin ... .
