  World of Warcraft fans???

  hey guys.... i'm a big gamer.

  i play a game called world of warcraft.. i know of 2 other people on my server that are jw.. one is a fader and the other a regular at the meetings.. i actually discovered them by accident after chatting with them during christmas time.. just wondering if anyone else here plays on wow.. confucious

  i was emboldened by elsewhere's post where he called his mini cooper "nancy".

  the large glass of wine also helped me to make an admission.

  many years ago, i named my car "sully" after the scrumptious character in "dr quinn, medicine woman", mainly to tease my daughter.

  LOL...

  I know a brother that named his car after reading Stephen King's book "Carrie." (I think that was the name.)

  Anyway, this brother was a whack job and like had mental problems and all the like.

  But the word out on the "JW" street was that after he named his car that the car would do weird things like lock by itself and stuff.

  Who knows if it was true or not - but I did know the brother pretty well and it was his (our) friends that told the story about it.

  It was actually pretty common knowledge that that happenend at the time.

  I know that JW are big on Urban Legends and stuff, but this was pretty first hand - I guess for as first hand as possible for me.

  I was personal friends with Mickey.

  I know everytime someone mentions a prominent witness like Prince or Mickey that I jump in and say I know him.

  But Mickey is really a good guy.

  Jane on the other hand is a beautiful woman but got a lot of grief a few years ago from this murder case she was involved with (she was defending the convicted murder).

  But I tell you the Spillane's are top notch people.

  Would you go back if...

  what if the watchtower announced that they are not god's sole channel of spiritual truth?

  along with this admission, would come an apology for all of the misleading and damaging predictions and past teachings.

  what if they also dumped the disfellowshipping arrangement, as currently practiced, and allowed for respectful disagreement and disent, on issues such as blood transfusions and military service?

  I'm going out on a limb here and say probably YES.

  I've always felt that JW could be a pretty nifty religion... kind of if it was like JW Lite. Same great taste - Half the Guilt kind of thing.

  I mean... it's easy for us to say "no no no way" and stuff like that... But we all either picked this religion on believed in it somepoint in our life.

  I left because of the hypocrisy (amongst other things)... but put that aside - who knows.

  But in all honesty, I don't think it could happen - because even if the Gov Body said all these things... you go back to what Jesus said about the workers in the field.

  You would have the ones that worked all day (elders, etc) that would be like... "WHHHHHAAT??? I've been toiling here ALL DAY LONG with al these rules and I stuck with and NOW you invite all these Sinners and they get the same reward as ME???!!!!???"

  It would turn the organization upside down.

  So what? Engaged couples had to stay 2 191-page books apart?

  I mentioned this before in a previous post - but the P.O.'s wife said no using stamps with flags on them when mailing forms to the society. But I guess sending them $$ with In God We Trust is ok.

  ok.... just trying to find a better understanding here.... no stupid posts like, "...because it's the governing body.

  " - please.. ok.... how do the witness justify the bible and at the same time condem catholicism et all.... i mean, the books in the bible were picked by the council of nicea - which according the the witnesses - were part of the great appostasy and sanctioned by the same group of religious leaders they condemn..

  Nice Inq... nice insite.

  I remember studying the All Scriptures Inspired and Beneficial book at the Thur Night Study.

  After each book it would go on and say "blah blah... and because it mentions Jehovah's name and has internal harmony, we can see how this how ______________ (insert book here) belongs in the Bible Canon."

  I picked up a copy of the New Jerusalem Bible and it has a few of the other books... one is very good called Wisdom.

  Now that I think of it...

  I'm sure that a Witness could say, "Well Jehovah can use wicked people to accomplish his means..."

  So my thought is... "Then why can't he still do that today and use Christendom..."

  Just a thought.
