The main issue here is that Jerusalem lost its last REAL King when Pharoh Necho placed a vassel King on the throne, which in effect ceased the line of Davidic kings. Nebuchadnezzar did not become King until 604 BC and soon afterwards took over the Egyptian empire which included Jerusalem. So 604 started the Gentile Times, and if you count 2520 years from that date you arrive at 1917 which was the very year General Allenby liberated Jerusalem. The year just happens to be the year 1335 in the Islamic calender as well, which is spoken of in Daniel 12 as 1335 days.
Another amazing thing that confirms this Biblical prophecy as being authentic is that Allenby in Turkish means PROPHET OF ALLAH, and the Turks were ordered to never surrender the City unless the 'prophet of Allah' came. Coincidence? I don't think so.
The Gentile Times are all about Jerusalem and not some kind of Spiritual Israel. The prophecies about 1917 were proclaimed by a Dr Gratten Guiness way back in the 1800s. It seems as if Russell hung is banner on the wrong post. He was a Zionist and should have gone along with Guiness instead of the Adventist Barbour. But he was also influenced by the Occultist Freemasons.
We are living in a very critical time of Biblical prophecy, but it is all to do with Israel and the revealing of the anti-Christ and then finally Yeshua the King coming back in Glory to gather his people together.
I have gleaned all of this from Christian sources, and was a contributory factor in our leaving the WT false prophets after 50 years.

i now belive that religion is just one of the many forms of control that the powers that be (hereafter refered to as 'tha man') use to control people and keep them under foot.
we know how the current administration uses the religious right to keep the electorate in line, but i also believe the wts serves tha man in the same way.

Witnesses LOVE Christmas Lights!
by gumby ini don't know how publishers in your neck of the woods veiws christmas lights......but all the ones i've been around since being born into this religion........loves to see all the lights.
we even used to get a map in the paper that showed where those lived with huge decorations and go see them.
some entire blocks would get together and do all their yards and we witnesses would drive around to see it all.

Gumby, I did not say we felt Yeshua actually IN the trees. What I said was, that we used to pray amongst the trees, and felt much closer to God than we ever did in the Kingdom Hall. We hugged the trees, because it helps Earth us. Much of the tree is in the Earth (Yin) and the other part reaches to the heavens (Yang) Its really magnetic energy, positive and negative, male and female, dark and light etc.,
The whole cosmos teaches me that their is design and creation, and that is what I ment by God being in ALL things. I was not saying I believed in Animist beliefs such as the Aboriginal Tribes and Native American Indians.
It was such a calm place that it helped us detox from the Cult and get closer to God.

the bible is the product of hs and when the body prays and uses the bibles qualifications for older men in the context of the perspective candidate hs is involved in his approval or disapproval.

Yes, A Guy was appointed as an Elder years ago, and soon afterwards was removed. Not long after that he was before a JC for Homosexual activities. He was married with 2 boys. He was later DF and his wife divorced him. The strange thing is, that since becoming a Christian I found out he has also become a Christian and given up his sexual activities.
I could not help thinking at the time, that how was he appointed by Holy Spirit, just to be removed soon after.

amommy, what you need now is loads of prayer. You will of course be angry, and we all went through that, and very often it surfaces again even though we have been out for nearly 5 years.
But now we find that we actually pray for the ones who are still in captivity.
You can read my testimony on www.witforjesus.org and even ask Christy for help to get totally free. We have a prayer team, with exJWs on it, who pray for ones who have either got out, or want family out.
My heart goes out to you. Both of my daughters are BA Christians, but the oldest did not want to know at first. He In Laws are still JWs and her FIL is an Elder, all of my SILs family are still JWs. My daughter is 37 and was diagnosed with Lung Lymphoma a few months ago. Since then she has accepted Jesus into her life and gets regular prayer for her illness. Thankfully the Cancer has not spread to any of the other lymph nodes or gone anywhere else. He bone marrow is normal and her blood is normal. So we are trusting in our wonderful healing Father to heal her completely. Obviously she has never smoked in her life and is a very moral person, so she could have blamed God for her illness, but thankfully it had the opposite result.
I pray that your whole family will see the evil of the WT Society.

i think this was a 2000 watchtower, but to be honest i was so shocked at reading it that i forgot to make a note.. .
can anybody enlighten me please??

We tried to show a more balanced view to our 2 Girls. They are now both married with kids of their own and are both out of the Cult and are Born Again Christians. My wife used to buy them presents very near to Christmas so that they did not feel odd.
They thankfully do not hold it against us, but know it was the corrupt religion that caused us to have weird ways.
But many kids were treated awful. I loved music, and thankfully I listened to what I liked, and took no notice of the WT views of music. I listened to Rock Bands in the 70s and my oldest daughter likes the same kind of music. However I knew of some JW kids who could not even listen to the latest Pop songs. Pathetic people.

Yes when I read about all of those involvements with the WT and BIG Business, I could not believe what I was reading either. But the more you look into the Cult you can see the Demonic control it exerts over its captives. When I saw the hidden SATANIC images in the Societies paintings, it made me sick that I had even been a part of distributing their lies and deceptions. My poor old Mum & Dad would have been horrified if they had of known that the WT was linked to the UN and had shares in tobacco and arms corporations. My Dad died in early 1994 a year before they changed the 1914 generation stuff. He had Pioneered for 25 years with my Mum and served as an Elder for many years, what a waste of lives.
It was the change odf the Sheep & Goats doctrine that got me really thinking. If the sheep and goats have not yet been seperated as they now claim, HOW CAN THE LITTLE FLOCK OF SHEEP BE CHOSEN ALREADY?
The whole thing is so contradictory, that the members must be blinded by some kind of SVENGALI influence.

They just want the DEATH of every one who is not one of them. I could never square that with a loving God, who gave his life for ALL.
And they do not like Children at all. They claim to love them, but they are treated as appendages. They are little slaves of the WT. When I was a Child, I was forced to give 3-5 minute sermons and look into the housholders eyes. I was a shy kid in those days and felt very embarrassed, I would now class that as abuse. I also did it to my kids, but not so harshly. They were disiplined if the did not sit still for 2 B....Y hours.
If we played up at meetings we were given the BELT when we got home. No wonder my Sister went Mentally Sick and died at only 49 years of age.
They keep Jesus away from the rank & file, so deprive them of his Mediatorship.
They are really evil people. Very similar to Nazi's ideology.

Another thing amommy, is that the WT deliberately kept us away from Jesus as the Mediator between God and man. I have asked a few JWs since we have left who their mediator is, and they all say Jesus, and yet the WT say NO. They have stated on a number of occassions that the Other Sheep are Not a part of the Mediatorship of Jesus, only the 'anointed class'.
Most JWs will be shocked to know that is what they teach.

• Is Jesus the "mediator" only for anointed Christians?
The term "mediator" occurs just six times in the Christian Greek Scriptures and Scripturally is always used regarding a formal covenant.
Moses was the "mediator" of the Law covenant made between God and the nation of Israel. (Gal. 3:19, 20) Christ, though, is the "mediator of a new covenant" between Jehovah and spiritual Israel, the "Israel of God" that will serve as kings and priests in heaven with Jesus. (Heb. 8:6; 9:15; 12:24; Gal. 6:16) At a time when God was selecting those to be taken into that new covenant, the apostle Paul wrote that Christ was the "one mediator between God and men." (1 Tim. 2:5) Reasonably Paul was here using the word "mediator" in the same way he did the other five times, which occurred before the writing of 1 Timothy 2:5, referring to those then being taken into the new covenant for which Christ is "mediator." So in this strict Biblical sense Jesus is the "mediator" only for anointed Christians.
The new covenant will terminate with the glorification of the remnant who are today in that covenant mediated by Christ. The "great crowd" of "other sheep" that is forming today is not in that new covenant. However, by their associating with the "little flock" of those yet in that covenant they come under benefits that flow from that new covenant. During the millennium Jesus Christ will be their king, high priest and judge.
