  Stillajwexelder - Welcome and do be cautious of what information you give out online.

  As for this thread - I haven't been around this site long enough but agree it's a bogus story just to get people to jump to another site.

  Spies - Now I understand my parent's need to order all the JW CD's and clear our their DVD collection. I'm not surprised and would venture a guess it all really depends on the congergation and the elders to keep their 'flock' on the path.

  All Elders watching this board - I understand your need to control however there's a little thing we were given when created ... Free Will. People do what they preceive is in their best interst and so there're concerns JW's have and non-JW's have regarding your organization in which YOU have not able to completey answer . If you were, then this wouldn't be necessary...would it?

  What happens when you leave.....fade out...disappear?

  so i'm considering having a 'talk' with my father about being a jw (maybe giving him c of c) and all that i'm finding about the wts.

  there are many levels to this and i was wondering what happens when you fade out?

  what was 'that' feeling replaced with for you?

  Thank you all so much for sharing your experiences. My parents joined for 'logical' reasons and so I plan on appealing to that side of their thinking and they may or may not snap out of this. Their 'friends' on the other hand are all 2nd generation JW's and have entrenched themselves in the borg & the KH. I do hope they will find somethiing else to enjoy....

  So I'm considering having a 'talk' with my Father about being a JW (maybe giving him C of C) and all that I'm finding about the WTS. There are many levels to this and I was wondering what happens when you fade out?

  What was 'that' feeling replaced with for you?

  They have never had friends before, now they won't. And I would hate to be 'responsible' for that. I don't want to crush all they're trying to believe in (I know they're trying to do that to me) and give them nothing in return. Maybe the answer is - they have to fill that hole with something they have to find.

  at 2:00am pacific time my son was awakened my his drill instructor, in the next 54 hours he will do a variety of team tasks, sleep 4 hours at the most and have two rations between he and his buddy.

  he is in the cruicible, for the marine corp. he has to finish to graduate...so all prayers and good thoughts are appreciated.

  I'm maried to a Brurrrly Marine, who's also a big baby. If he can do it - anyone can.

  Semper Fi & don't forget pain is weakness leaving the body.

  Your baby will be just fine, the 'food' they're feeding him has more energy than anything in the world. Anyone can do ANYTHING for a few weeks or days - just as long as they know they's an ending.

  Not knowing is the worst and I feel for yo. Just spoil him when he gets home and let him know how proud you are of him.

  met the jw's today, a 20 year old boy and his mother.

  he was refreshing, she was not.

  as soon as the conversation started to go to the trinity, she stopped the discussion and simply asked if we were "comfortable" in believing what we do.

  ALL - Please correct me if I'm wrong, but the WTS did admit to changes in prophesy. "With the coming of the End 'New' information has been revealed to the annointed," has been the answer I was given by my father when I brought up that subject. I think you and your wife did the best you could and researching it the way you did was a great idea. I too enjoy talking to others of different faiths.   Will the Watchtower take down their website?

  what can the watchtower do to stop the influx of their flock from going to apostate web sites that expose their false doctrines?

  one way would be to take down their website so no one would even have a reason to get on line.

  No they won't. The website is their reaction to sites like this one. It's the classic 'if you can't beat them - join them' syndrome. They aren't using it an an information tool, just checking off the box that says 'do you have an internet site?' Maybe that was a question found on the application for the library card? Who knows...

  I told my parents I was looking for info about the JW's and they point blank told me the info online was not accurate and if I wanted the 'official' site to let them know. They're doing their research and I'm doing mine. I can't get them to check out this site, but will try.

  Maybe we should ask - Will the WTS attempt to crash and close out this site?

  Sometimes, it just ain't any fun...

  i took my kids on a vacation to disney world...their dream vacation, actually, although it didn't turn out that way.

  midway through we get a call that their grandmother (the real one, who was never a dub and who hasn't ever turned her back on the kids or on me even thru my divorce from her son, unlike my own jw mother) is in serious condition at the hospital.

  we spent one of our 'vacation' days sitting in a hospital icu waiting room, timing our 15 minute visits so that we could see her, and throughout it all the kids were troopers.

  Dana - I can only add to the compliments given to you and the way you’re handling this with your children. I just hope this storm will pass through your lives and one day you will all remember Jo's spirit. The kindness and compassion children have for others is so overwhelming and encouraging that while Delany is afraid...still shows her how to put other peoples feelings ahead of her own. What a lesson to learn for such a little one. Thank you for taking the time to check this thread and let us into a piece of your life and heart.
