You have touched my heart. What wisdom your mom had and I'm sure she's given it to you, too. I don't know what the "truth" is in an absolute sense, either, but I no longer believe I have to. There were so many rules to live by as a jw that it's sometimes difficult to accept being free. You are right to "start living." Please give yourself the credit you deserve.

Update on my son

i have been still at it to get more help for my son matthew,well his psychiatrist has been doing as mush as he can.he is great!

i will be having someone soon come into my home to help me and my son to learn.i never realized matthew is severe with autism,until i compared him to other children over the summer.i had matthew in day camp for most of the summer.

well,i remeber i mentioned,the last letter i wrote when i was sooooooooo upset.. i mentioned matthew has pinworms and i have a very difficult time getting rid of them because it is very hard to give him any type of medication.he mouths a lot of objects and before you know he picks something up off the ground and in it goes to his mouth.

Sounds like a lot of good suggestions. It seems to be true that the "squeaky" wheel gets the grease. Don't let up; can you get others to bug the the hospital for you, too?

i do not know what's going on and, quite frankly, i don't care to.

perhaps there is bliss in ignorance.

I stay away from most politics, simply because a lot of time I don't think I'm educated enough on the topic. I can't quote history, statistics, etc, I can only state my thoughts and feelings.

Me, too.

And there's enough conflict in my life right now. I'm also trying to leave the negativity of the borg behind; most times, I feel like I'm winning.

"Kingdom Melodies"

why exactly are they so bad?

are they afraid that a true orchestral and choral piece will glorify god too much?

btw, can you think of any other songs that kingdom melodies sound like?

I love how others actually know these songs! This forum brings me to people who share part of my past. When I was still "in", even as a teenager, we used to have "sing-a-longs". I'm surprised that I actually remember so many lyrics.

The old green paperback songbook (this goes way back) had melodies from a few "worldly" sources. They were purged when that pink/purple thing came out. Actually got rid of some of the best melodies.

i have been raised in the truth and published for 36 years...(yes, i have been very timid about posting...because i am new and because i feel i must have something of value to contribute).. since feb. i have seriously been reconsidering this org.

I'm going to visit my jw family

i'll be spending a short amount of time visiting with my mom; my sibs will also likely be there when i arrive.

i'm hoping for a peaceful visit, but i've had a terrible experience being "ambushed" despite their promise to respect my decision not to talk about my reasons for leaving the wts.. do any of you know of any new campaign or tactics to get ex-jw's to talk or confess?

i just want to be prepared for the latest but i will refuse to engage with them, as always.

it is evident that publishers are growing in the us branch, but pioneers have not kept pace.. consider the km reports from january this year:.

2002/03 service year (pubs include all pioneers).

sep - pubs: 971,346 pioneers: 88,341. oct - pubs: 972,450 pioneers: 91,101. nov - pubs: 973,067 pioneers: 89,083. dec - pubs: 895,241 pioneers: 90,654. jan - pubs: 986,419 pioneers: 89,325. feb - pubs: 983,963 pioneers: 89,251. mar - pubs: 1,003,431 pioneers: 87,878. apr - pubs: 991,499 pioneers: 87,377. may - pubs: 992,412 pioneers: 86,884. jun - pubs: 963,000 pioneers: 84,900. figures for jun are approximates as i only glanced at the sep km and do not have it yet.. but there is a clear indication that despite all the talks to do more and pioneer, and the aug km talk on.
