Anything I get will be appreciated. If you still need suggestions: mittens, dark chocolate, an ornament, something representing your corner of the world, something hand made. I've never been disappointed with a JWD gift.

What is your family's favorite Christmas tradition?
by LovesDubs ini was a methodist for the first 30 years of my life, a jw in the middle 13 and then from 1997 have returned to my christmas roots, albeit with a different perspective about what "religion" means to me.
but christmas is a big package which to me extends beyond the birth of jesus.
ive had to re-start, and invent new, traditions for my kids and i as we are alone down here in florida most christmases, and all our relatives who are down here are jws.

Two:
The weekend after Thanksgiving we go out for Chinese food for lunch, pick out the tree, bring it home and set it up while eating Christmas cookies and drinking hot chocolate.
Christmas morning I make fresh, star-shaped biscuits, a big pot of coffee, apple wood smoked bacon, and we open our stockings. When the stocking stuffers have been opened, the youngest passes out gifts, one at a time.

oh, crap. I think I'm getting hubby more "priviledges"...
by cognac ini've been watching over this elder/pioneer couples kid who is a neighbor of ours.
i've been doing this a lot over the past week or two.
i just feel it helps get this poor girl away from service all the time and i like kids anyways.

Successful JW/Non-JW Relationships... How do you make it work?
by cognac ini was thinking we could talk about what works for couples who have good jw/non-jw relationships.
maybe we could get ideas from eachother to help improve ourselves and our relationships!.
i'll start.

This if for Tiffy. You need to call an attorney. Explain your situation and ask for referals to organizations for women experiencing changes in their lives. You have a right to half your assets. I know they may not be many if your husband has always been in the organization and you may not own a home or have a retirement plan. I'm wishing you the best.
Cognac, it sounds like you're doing all you possibly can to make your relationship work. I'm wishing you the best, too.

I was nervous at first, too. It's all the old brainwashing. You can easily feel guilty long after you no longer believe. They do a good job at messing up minds. I figured that if that lightening bolt didn't get me when I walked into a Unitarian church, it pretty much wasn't ever going to. My kids had such a good time celebrating; I can still remember the first Halloween. It was cold and rainy, they were cold, but didn't mind. We went back to the house for pizza (and beer for the adults) while the kids counted and sorted the loot. I'm so looking forward to all the holidays this year! Love my Christmas tree!

Another JW email experience plagiarized from the web
by truthseeker injust received this.... .
a reminder of jehovahs' love .
every sunday afternoon, after the morning meeting one elder and his eleven year old son would go out into their town and hand out tracts.. this particular sunday afternoon, as it came time for the elder and his son to go into the ministry with their tracts, it was very cold outside, as well as pouring down with rain.

I need some help & suggestions
by Nosferatu inas many of you know, i've got a new job.
quitting my old one is proving to be difficult.
i gave my boss two weeks notice.

Emma
You don't owe him anything more than the notice you already gave. He sounds put out that he'll have to replace you. He should have thought of that before and made the job more than tolerable. He should not contact your new employer, though I don't know that you can stop him. Just let the new one know you're on board and his company is your future.
