  Proud mom moment - have to share.

  my eight year old daughter has wanted to run with me for a long time.

  i had us signed up for a girls only run last winter but we woke to snow so i blew it off.

  this year i was determined to find a winter run for us.

  Your JW Memories of Christmas

  for those of you who grew up in the troof, what do you remember about christmas eve and christmas day?.

  i recall an empty feeling.

  it was a special day all over the world, except for the jws.

  One that stands out in my mind is going in service on Christmas morning, must have been late '60's. With the circle serpant, no less. (circuit servant, but that's what we affectionately called him) One very nice couple invited us in for mimosa's! The cs accepted one! I was only about 19 and had to settle for orange juice.

  Having a hard time with this, what to do, what to do

  for those who don't know my story (look up past posts, i posted it) here's the cliff's notes.. i was df'd about 10 weeks ago for things other than apostacy.

  i plan in being reinstated to keep communication with my family (wife and i were raised in the........tr......tru.........truth) so i am still going to the meetings.. well, for any that don't know my wife had a baby thursday woo-hoo!

  anyway, the cong we are in is actually fairly loving and it's quite a shock to me since it's very different from what i have experienced for the last 30+ years.

  If you're determined to be reinstated, you have to go along with this. Of course there's no scriptural precedent. But just think of the points you'll earn showing your humility...

  I'm sure your wife appreciates the help. And from what I read on this site, it is unusual for a congregation to be this helpful.

  Annual visits to DF'd ones

  i have been disfellowshipped since 2001. does the society still recommend that elders make annual visits to encourage people to come back?

  just wondering, as i never have received one.

  i do not want to go back, just wondering if this is just another lie about their fake compassion and love.

  Never had a visit not that I ever wanted one. I simply faded. But my sisters consider me apostate, of which they're terrified! I never gave them reason except for not "being" a witless. If you're not for, you must be apostate.

  btw, I'd turn away most anyone who "called."

  Can we start a Secret Santa Recieved/Sent Thread?

  i'm worried because i sent a christmas card plus had a gift sent by ups over the internet about 7 days ago and haven't heard anything.

  i would feel really feel bad if my person didin't receive their gift or card.

  so i think we need to have an official post place.

  How long can a person hide?

  here is my dilemma.

  i am grown and married but i stlill go to the same congregation as my mom.

  my dad is not a jw, just my mom and sister but she lives an hour away so it is just my mom and i. as i have come to realise that the wts is 100% pure junk, going to meetings and hearing "the friends" talk has become unbearable.

  I had the same delima, too. I even asked myself if I could hang on until my mom passed away. Imagine having to think such thoughts!

  I second Black Swan of Memphis.

  And, no, it's not easy. But leaving an authentic life counts.

  I sent mine on Tuesday morning by Priority Mail. It's going cross country, but it should be there by the end of the week. Hope it's enjoyed; my person didn't give many hints!
