  Republicans Changing their Emblem from an Elephant

  i heard recently that the rnc is changing their emblem from an elephant to a condom since it more clearly represents the party's stance : it stands up to inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of pricks and gives a sense of security while screwing others.. .

  i was divorced in 1988- (remarried in 2000) it was over a year in the making.

  despite all my efforts to reason with her, i failed to get her to see the errors in the wt society.

  after i told her my views on blood transfusions she called me an apostate and refused to discuss the jw's.-i was on the outside after that.

  yes, but i hear thursday will be the bad day, when i do the meds and have to sit 3 feet from the toilet for 24 hours,,oyy vay.

  Wow. Let us know if there's a follow-up return visit from those elders. Might they try to talk to your friend if they get him alone? Or are they scared away permanently? I think they must wonder somewhere deep down why they have to be so afraid.

  Do Your Medical Records Still Say That You Are A Jehovah's Witness?

  i raise the question because mine did - until thursday that is.

  a routine follow up review appointment was my opportunity to place a 'living will" in my records .

  the doctor said "you are a jehovahs witness aren't you" .

  I think it's finally out of mine but it took two tries. Those things seem to linger in records both hard copy and on line. Now when I'm in the hospital, I write on my paper work that "I have no objection to any treatments involving blood or blood transfusion." A few weeks ago I nearly needed blood and asked to sign the permission early. I didn't need it - and I still don't take the risks lightly - but if it came to truly needing one, I want it!

  Kids are going to college

  my daughter got an acceptance to her first choice in colleges last week!

  she's leaving for nyc this tuesday to look for a job and a place to live.

  (she'll be living with a friend while she looks.

  NYC Kid, she'll be going to Baruch College in Manhatten. Her friend lives in Brooklyn but I'm not sure where my daughter will be looking for housing. Good for you in going to college!

  My daughter got an acceptance to her first choice in colleges last week! She's leaving for NYC this Tuesday to look for a job and a place to live. (She'll be living with a friend while she looks.) She's transfering from a junior college this January.

  My son is at a charter high school that is connected with the same junior college. He passed his preliminary classes and can now go on to take the regular college courses. This is a big accomplishment for him as he's not done well before in school; not motivated. So his first two years of college will be paid for as part of this high school program. Yeah!

  I'm so happy they're free to make decisions about their future!

  i've thought for a while that those who are most virulently anti-gay often times are themselves repressing their own homosexual feelings.

  the delicious irony in this one is that this guy is head of a 30,000,000 strong evangelical organization and he's been a vocal opponent of anything gay friendly.. .

  Percentages are percentages; there are just as many gays in the conservative right as anywhere else; they just aren't allowed to admit it.

  my stereo is rending xmas music as i type this - a wonderful celtic version of "the christmas song".

  snow is flying outside my window - and i am getting in the xmas mood already.

  Yes and it was beginning to look a lot like Christmas for a while here. We had flurries all day. I'm lovin it! (January through mid April are my difficult months.)
