  My experience w/ the JW secretary at my office

  i believe i have mentioned before, i works w/ a lunatic jw.

  this is the same woman who will not go by a shorter version of her name because as she told me in front of some fellow co-workers once i found the truth, i put on the new personality and the fruitages of the spirit, so i go by my full name now.

  There's a dub in our office, too. She's known as a real brown-noser and for her fake, over the top smile. We have an in-house web site for pics and a bio, and she's used hers to "witless." I wonder how she counts the time for that?

  Did you ever go through other people's trash to find something interesting?

  often i notice people around here, driving slowly in front of each garbage can, on trash day, and some stop to pick up things that they think they can sell and make money with or for themselves.. have you ever done this or witnessed it?

  I've never gone through someone's trash, but picked "good"stuff up if its sitting out. That's where I found my current coffee maker, and I've had it about eight years!

  This is what sucked my mom and grandma in; they were both terrified of death.

  My mom still is, it's so sad. Grandma went 40 years ago and my mom is elderly and frail. So sad.

  It's not a love of god and whats right but fear that draws and keeps them in.

  Advice for non-JW please

  having visited this site on many occasions, and having been recommended to it, i am confident that it is a source of good advice from people who know about these things.

  i would be grateful for any advice you can offer me.. i have been an atheist for 20+ years, but before that was a non-conformist protestant with degrees of belief varying from acceptance to enthusiasm.

  my atheism resulted from research because of my (continuing) interest in the effects of religion.

  Since you've never been a witness, they won't get in trouble. Bless you for your concern about the children. I don't know if you can ever be an influence to any of them, but your alternative viewpoint and friendship may cause one of them to think somewhere down the line. There's really not much else to do.

  If they eventually give up on hopes of converting you, they may cool toward you.

  I never ate at NY Bethel but a friends husband was cook at Canadian Bethel in the early 70's. The night we ate there an assistant cooked. It was a weekend, I believe, and very casual. I cooked for them in their room the next day!

  My study conductor is trying to make me feel bad

  my study conductor is now sending me emails try to make me feel bad about leaving the study and the congregation.

  in a way im sorta starting to feel withdrawl symptoms from leaving the congregation.. .

  You need to fill your time with new, more constructive activities and people. Get in touch with old friends you haven't talked to in a while. You will get over this!

  Anger over disfellowshipping

  i have now spoken with a couple of worldly people regarding the practise of disfellowshipping.

  having been out of the org for a few months i now feel confident enough to expose the things that i knew were wrong.

  d/f was one of the biggest issues i had.
