Cool FS. Seems getting eternal life is so easy now. Thinking of joining again with a re-baptism.

"We never solicit donations" - really?
by doubtfull1799 ininspired by this weeks clam article which again "reminds" the brothers pdf their obligation/privilege to donate "voluntarily" i have complied a list of articles or videos in the last 5 years where donations are indeed solicited or encouraged.
the society may argue that these are not actual solicitations because no plate was passed around.
but a donation box is just a more discrete and subtle version of the plate.

During my Protestant Church membership, the sextant would come home to collect the membership fee for my family. We cannot avoid that. In addition there would be a passing of plate in every service, for money.
In that manner the WT is far better.

Hell Exists
by Poppy520 inmany people of all denominations are beginning to believe that hell does not exist - but the bible supports the claim that it does.
examine this verse, one under nkjv and the other nwt:.
nkjv - matthew 25:46, "and these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.".

Great Point. Next time I should ask a JW, the meaning of kolasin and its context in Matthew.
The Bible for sure talks about Hell but the WT tries hard to cover it up.

I am terrified that my still-in wife's memory about me would be wiped off.

I feel the world is a better place to live now. Don't fall for doomsday tactics.
Had I been born some 300 years earlier, I would have died at a young age of Cholera, typhoid , malaria or any other numerous diseases caused by microbes that the loving God Created.

Do you or did you experience too much intrusion into your personal life by the elders in your congregation?
by UnshackleTheChains ini ask this question because i have personally experienced first hand the control and intrusion into my personal life by the elders at our hall; and for virtually trivial things or non issues!
what's more, i regularly hear of individuals moving to other halls because they were stumbled by the thought police....er, i mean these elders.. have you had any such experience?
have your elders been a bit ott over trivialities?.

I used to do very low FS, on an average of 5 hrs/month. For that, I would be advised by elders to do more and be less materialistic.
The elders thought I am giving more importance to my job than Kingdom activities. The truth was, my inner guts told me that this is all fake and hence lesser FS.

What’s The Strangest Belief of Jehovah’s Witnesses?
by minimus inthere’s a lot.
i think one strange view is how only 144000 go to heaven.
since the number is mentioned in the symbolic book of revelation, you would expect that the number would be viewed as figurative, but jws say otherwise.

They follow what they claim is a literal application of the improper usage of blood when it comes to transfusion, yet those same scriptures don't prevent them from allowing modern medicine from using blood for tests instead of what they say is the only proper use of blood- sacrifice and disposal
Yes, I always wanted to ask a JW about this. If blood is only to be used for sacrifice and disposal, JWs shouldn't do any blood work tests at all.

Nothing tastes better than Freedom. I am an Ex JW and relishing every moment of life, to be free from a cult. Looking back I can only laugh at how silly my beliefs were, once. You too would experience the same.
Wishing all the best.
