EOM, sinkholes are naturally occuring phenomenon documented in the geological past for millions of years. What is happeing lately is combination of population growth and expansion of undeground sewer/pipelines that made ideal starting point for sinkholes. Majority of sinkholes in densly populated areas happened when underground waterway is bursted and flow of water washout soil and mineral deposits and creating an empty pocket that will eventually collapse under the weight. The collapse is speed up by vibrations from traffic and movement on the ground. Almost all major world cities have issue with sinkholes and often the source is eroded surface around the pipelines. States like Florida are specific due limestones that is much easier to erode, but the scenario is pretty much the same.

When I was a kid my JW aunt that destroyed my childhood and family by dragging my parents into the faith told me back in time when Cold War was in the peak, and Berlin Wall was standing, exactly the same words: urgency, imminent, armageddon, last breath of Satan, death and destruction is upon the world, etc... Decades later, Berlin Wall faded into history and new generation was born, and became young adult. My aunt turned into ashes, and she have not seen the world to end as she expected. 40 year later, you will hear the same urgency nonsense in 2054 as the world's end is upon as.. bla, bla
And standing silence in the subway and train station is around since mid 1980's. But in USA I had encountered couple crazies, mostly afro-americans who were shouting on the streets waving WT up in the air and preaching the end. Only end I am preparing is the biological, that is ineviteble for any of as, and I hope it comes many, many, years in the future.

I believe in the God as a creator of the Universe. However, I do not believe that Bible is word God. How would God left behind such book that is full of nonsense, missing references to non-existing books in the cannon, has internal inconsistencies and contradictions. Bible is what people thousands of years ago thought was their divine revelation. Do we care what Romans belived and treasured so much like the books they kept in the temple which contained sybyllas' prophecies, and had people to die for?

last weekend, my mom invited me too.instead of saying something like, "i'm sorry, but i have no intention of going back," and having them completely freak out - i agreed to go to the sunday morning session.

USA was until 1941 insiginificant player in the world's scene, it was not taken seriously and it was due its internal politics isolated country without any alliance since 1800 when Congress by one side broke all treaty with only ally it had, which was France. USA has share of its problem and often is socially backward. Slavery was abolished 70 years after France and gay rights were set 210 after I. French Republic. Eithe rway, the bashing USA from your site does not change the fact, that its is country that opposed successfully both nazi and communist totality which enables you freely complain about internal and external problems of it. Try thinking how it would work if Nazi's or Commies would win the confrontation.
I do not want to comment your Isreal position. I have my opinion which is probably biased and I do like Jews and have a huge admiration for them. However, with your case I am not sure where to drawn line with your comment when it borders with antisemitism which I am hugely allergic to it. Nonetheless, it does not mean that I am oblivious to the plight of the innocent civilians from both sides that are stuck for decades in mutually destructive wars that killed thousands and solved absolutelly nothing.

Yugoslav citizens and serb-croatian (or slovenian, bosniak, montenegrin) were regularly hunted down, arrested, and expelled back to their native country. This happened to large Croat and Serbian population that lived in Czechoslovakia around 1953. My friend was half Croat and half Czech and she lived in her childhood in Yugoslavia where they were expelled even when she was born in Prague. Between 1956 and 1960 both Poland and Hungary were considered as a enemy countries by communists and it was not possible to travel there. Later this was the case for Czechoslovakia which was off limit for many Soviets and East Germans in 1967-1970 due its Prauge Springs and subsequent occupation. Communist parties aligned with Moscow were scared of liberal communism of Prague. In 1960's many people in the Soviet block hoped for a war between China and USSR, because they belived that much more populous China will defeat USSR and occupy most of Russia which would shake the grip it had over several Eastern Block states. This was also official position of Romanian and Czechoslovak government in the 1968. In the 1980's it was difficult travel to Poland and I remember how it was impossible to secure a travel permit there due coup. Anyone who claims that Eastern Block was monolithic, unified region under one political will that would resemble world power mentioned in Bible should little do research on how the reality was there during the Cold Ward.
Today's Russia is far from successfull state and it continues to lose its grip on its neighbors. Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova singed associated treaty with EU. Baltic states are in NATO and every satellite country of Moscow as well. Considering centrifugal forces within Russia proper like in Caucasus, they will be lucky to hold on territory within its border. Further strain between the West and Russia would deteriorate its demise and will whip out all the progress what Russia had since 1995. Twenty years of rebuilding would be gone. Caroline, if you demand really answer who are fallen angels, Satan, Devil, and war in the Heaven, you should turn into Jewish interpretation of the OT because they wrote it. Liberate yourself from thinking that was implemented by JW, WT, and evangelical nonesense that is also deeply rooted from Catholic view of the Bible. Ask yourself what Jews before Jesus and during his time though of Satan; who was Gog; why there is no notion of original sin; what OT say about punishment of sinning angels. What pre-exile scripts say about angles, and how the differ after exile; what prophets wrote in the OT, and why WT interpretation is different from it.
Fallen Angels idea is rather post biblical concept after Jews were exposed to different beliefs of the Greco-Persians world especially Zoroastianism. Angels good, bad, punishing ones, and messangers according to Jewish believes had a possibility to influence mankind good and bad way. Jacob ladder between Heaven and Earth tells you that angels were able to descent/ascent between two realms after the Flood.
Now when you move toward NT you find that according to I. Peter 3:19, fallen angeles were imprisoned. This mean that they were prevented from materialize in the human form on earth. NT is clear that Satan and his minions are free to roam the earth and looking for anyone to devour. However, depending on what "Light" you read, you will find different interpretation.

Anglo-American world power is a term that was invented by evangelical crazies at the end of the 19th century and except in brief period of time in history, it is rather artificial idea not having a base in the reality. Until 1920's USA was semi-agricultural society and Britian was already decaying and decling power. German's economy in the 1938 was bigger than American by 20% and far more modern. USA was barely world leader at the end of the 19th century and until Spanish-American war, it was not even taken seriously by any European power who dominated the world between 1500 and 1918/1945. American rise and subsequent retreat between 1945 and 2014 has nothing to do with evangelical explanation of the Bible. China was declying power for centuries before Europeans controlling it and China is returning into position that is equal to its economy, population, and size. Russia is barely world power and after its fiasco in Ukraine, it will continue is long decline that started in the 1980's. Ukraine left Moscow orbit and Russian influence continue to wane in territories that belong to USSR not to mention in the rest of the former Eastenr Block.Additionally, China and Russia are not friend nor allies. They have a mutual suspission of each other. I remember under commies how many people wanted for China to defeat USSR until Chinese lost. For Russians, China was considered as one the most dangerous place to be between 1960 and 1985, and Russians and Soviet population was regularly attacked and beaten up the. Because both leaderships attempts to minimize the global reach of the West and USA, it does not mean that both countries are friends. The same happened with Nazi Germany and Communist USSR, until both socialist countries went against each other. Both of them wanted to undermine Western democracy and liberalism and failed.

It is crucial to understand the story of the "fallen" angels from Jewish's point of view. Juda's short verse is a reflection what Jewish scholars believed in the antiquity around his time. Midrash explanations are diverse, but in general, Judaism does NO have a notion of fallen angels and conflict in Heaven between forces of God and evil. Even Satan is seen as someone who is employed by G-d and not is adversary. Angels according to Talmud do not have evil inclination in heaven but they may sin:
"The angels are dismayed, they are seized by fear and trembling as they proclaim: Behold the Day of Judgment! For all the hosts of heaven are brought for judgment. They shall not be guiltless in Your eyes."
Nephelim were not giants, but rather individuals in higher social rank who due their noble background abused their power. The word could mean a person of great statue but also having a spiritual greatness. Midrash also wrote that angels came to earth with G-d knowledge:
"I know that would you live on that world, the evil inclination would rule you just as much as it controls man, but you would be even worse.” But the angels persisted, saying: “Let us descend to the world of men, and we will show You how we will sanctify your name.” And G-d said: “Go down and dwell among them."
They did not believe it would happen, but once they got into the earth's realm among people, the behavior of men had corrupted them. Angels who were sent to Sodom were punished to wander the Earth for 138 years, because they should carry G-d judgment upon the city, but "they were haughty and attributed the act to themselves." Additionally, some stories said that angles may have corrupted men sexually and there are some referrences on same-sex unions prior the Flood. Eve supposedly had a intercourse with Satan and Kain was a product of this union. Therefore, Eve is a mother of all living, but this cannot be said about Adam. Midrash also mention that Adam was defiled by Satan and felt a shame for his act which was cause for his hiding.
Whatever is written in OT about angels, is rather incomplete myth that was preserved in the Bible.
