I am a million times happier. My life isn't driven by guilt but by joy. I'm off of anti-depressants and feel calm and peaceful most of the time.
i'm sure there's been several threads regarding this subject.
but, i thought i would start one again.
sunday afternoon is my favorite time to watch movies.

just had to tell someone who would understand.
today i went christmas shopping for the first time in 17 years!
i am 42 years old and felt about 10!
This is my 2nd Christmas ever, the first that I've ever really made out a list and gone shopping for my friends and the people I love. It's a great feeling. I'm excited and having such a blast wrapping and writing cards and just enjoying the feeling of loving the people in my life.
jehovah's witnesses teach that when we face persecution, it's a good thing!
if we're "persecuted for righteousness sake", we should be "happy".
i've seen some jws that actually seem to enjoy the thought of persecution, as if they were martyrs for the cause.

Isn't that why all Jw's are depressed and heavily medicated for one reason or another.

the details of who to send a gift to will be getting pm'd to you all either friday afternoon or saturday morning!
according to the information i've found online the last posting day for standard parcels is dec 11th for usa and december 15th for the uk/europe, so you should all have plenty of time to select and send a gift, although sending sooner rather than later is prefered.
can everyone taking part post on this thread what things they like, what their interests are etc so that the person who is buying a gift for you has some idea what to get you.
I love candles and yummy scents, books and journals and all that sort of stuff for vegging out in the winter. This is so fun!

I had dogs set on me in service when I was 7. Ran backwards into the street, almost got hit by a car, ran down the street sobbing. My dad came and got me, yelled at me for crying when there was more service to be done and told me to get myself together. Not much delight I'm afraid.
my mother just told me that my brother was told by his elders that because he attended my daughter's wedding, he was not going to be allowed any privileges, including "handling the microphones".
my elder friend that also went to the wedding told me he was being deleted too.
I'm so sorry you're dealing with this garbage, min - no matter how much we expect it, it's never easy, and it's really hard to even know what to expect since - as TJ pointed out so kindly - the elders make up the rules as they go. I never really understood what it would mean to lose my family, especially people like aunts and uncles I really loved who had always been there for me and weren' t that "strong" themselves; every "good-bye" letter I got hurt like hell. Maybe I should have been expecting them, but I don't think that helps....or even matters at all.
