I've been Love-Bombed

we are in another country visiting his non-jw family.
we lived here for many years, and our closest jw friends are all here, albeit a 4 hr.

Sounds like you had a wonderful time. The love bombing can feel quite good. People want to be accepted & loved. However, I think you have a good grip on the reality of the situation. There are 3 things you can probably count on with JW's if you have been away & inactive for awhile.
1. Although everyone was nice.....you know how JW's gossip. No doubt you have been gossiped about because of leaving.
2. The love bombing is because they want you be be of the same mind as them in a mind controlling cult. How would they really feel about you if they knew you really didn't accept all things currently believed by JW's?
3. Even if the love bombing got you to go back, do you think they would keep it up? No....it's conditional love only designed to get you back in. If you didn't make 90% of meetings, get X amount of hours in FS, comment and give TMS talks, then you would not get the love. You know you can never do enough in this organization.
I'm curious......if you have been out since the over-lapping generation change and the Governing Body only is the F&DS. Ask them about these changes, and see if they can make sense of them.

The numbers for knifes could be close to guns. Do liberals want to ban knifes also? I still can't believe someone could equate American parents teaching children to shoot or letting them play video games as teaching them to kill the same as ISIS is doing in their recruitment of children into their Islamic terriorist organization to behead abd kill innocent people.

No need for the Watchtower through the GB to speak out on ISIS or Islam. They have caused Jehovah Witnesses enough trouble with the blood transfusion doctrine, and by running their mouths over the years. Many JW's were killed in Malawi because the Watchtower leardership would not let them buy a political card when the JW in Mexico were allowed to do the equivilent. Joseph Russell and his crew were let out of prison when he agreed to take pages out of the Finished Mytery book. Nathan Knorr signed an oath to the U.S. to get a passport. Many JW's were jailed because they refused alternative service in lieu of prison over the neutrality issue. Now JW's are allowed to do some type of alternative service. No need to cause R&F JW's hardship or death over ISIS or Islam. The cult can just keep going about their cult activites under the Islam radar.

by Sour Grapes inmy elder friend told me that his kh is in need of upgrading their electronic system so that they can be ready for the big zone meeting in november and they need the flat screen televisions mounted to also enjoy all future special meetings put on by the branch.
the branch has given them the exact specifications and he mentioned the branch wants to use apple products.
they passed a resolution for a one time donation by the publishers to pay for the $6,000.00 system.

I bet the Watchtower knew to make the congregation money grab first, then put out the edict to get the expensive technology devices into the KH's. Smart move on their part right there. Most congs will probably have to come out of their pockets again for the money, when they already had the money but just forked it over to the Watchtower with no questions asked. LOL

I remember the congregation gatherings and fun being quite frequent in the early & mid-80's.. Then Brooklyn started coming out with counsel against "large gatherings". I believe some of it was because of their fear of apostacy, and some of it was from some of the sexual scandals that had happened. Anyway, it got to the point where rarely did JW's gather for fun in my area.

a) it was a civillian population.. b) i don't see how a nuclear holocaust can ever be right.. c) they could have bombed tokyo where all the generals lived but chose hiroshima.. d) the irony after the bombing america conceeded to many of japans terms.. your opinion would be valued..
