I don't think I looked down on anyone, just a bunch of people I didn't like. As for the other question was I looked down upon, you betcha I was.

"Un-baptism" questions please

the court has ordered i have to give written permission if the child is under 18. .
i am going to consent, but only if she studies with me and can answer my baptism questions.

I'd be a bit careful with that, mainly because if you give a really hard time your kid might shun you more. Anything my mom told me was wrong I usually did, though I do find it a strange idea to have a child rebel by BECOMING a JW. It just reminds me of Alex Keaton in Family Ties.

You are EX-JWs because you want to live an immoral life!
by Sirona inmany jehovah's witnesses believe what they've been told about ex-witnesses.
they say that exjws simply want to live an immoral life.
they say that exjws cannot live up to "jehovah's standards".

I guess I left because I wanted to do stuff that would be considered immoral when a witness. I wanted to go see my favorite bands without getting counselled for it, I wanted to grow long hair to cover up my huge ears, I didn't want a religion to stand in the way of me finding my soul mate, I wanted to pursue wrestling as a career and with the travelling I'd be doing I didn't want that to become a problem, I wanted to finish college (which with the class schedules for my requirements I never would've been able to do). Seeing a bunch of hypocrites looking out for their own will made me realize that it was ok to honestly ask myself what I wanted, people admitting to me that most of the people they knew were hypocrites made me want to leave, the stuff I wanted to do gave me the reason to leave, finally after I had already decided to leave I typed in "Jehovah's Witness" into the search bar of Netscape Navigator at my college and the rest gave me the reason never to go back.
Now I don't think I lead an immoral life, I've never touched a drug or any alchohol. I've only been with one woman, maybe I'm immoral due to my wrestling because I'm living a life filled with violence. I suppose, but it's fake violence so I would say I'm alright there. The only real "immoral" thing I do is I swear like a sailor, but in my defense I was worse when I was a witness.

If You Could.................
by minimus ingive an answer at the meeting, what would you really like to be able to say?.......if you could've said to a householder what you really thought, what would it be?
?......if you could've told that elder what you were really thinking, what words would have come out of your mouth?................you get the idea.
what would you have liked to do or say----now that you know what you know?

All of my priviledges were taken away because I had long hair. About 3 or 4 months after this (I fully enjoyed not going out in service) I cut my hair. Basically so I could look more goth. One of the elders told me, "You know with your hair short now you can share in all the wonderful work" Or something like that, "we can give you your priviledges back if you want, all you have to do is say the word and you could be giving talks again in two weeks". I told him "Do me a favor, write down all the priviledges I could have, fold it up real small and shove it." I really wish I said "fold it five ways and shove it". It sounds so much nicer, and flows so much better.

The super-cool cliques, if it weren't for them I'm sure 3/4ths of the children in our hall would've stayed.

Do you believe in "same sex" marriage?
by Carmel inyesterday i tuned into espn sports radio and listened to a semi-political debate on several issues.
when "same sex" marriage came up one of the talking heads refrained that "all marriages are same sex.
" you get married and have the "same sex" over and over again!

I feel everyone should have as many rights to live in the way they choose. If gay marriage comes to a vote, I'll vote for it. I don't think that it is hurting anyone.

What Would A Jehovah's Witness Reality Show Be Like??
by minimus in...this should be interesting!

I was actually going to create a witness character when I'm wrestling. Basically I would go out and cut these long winded promos about being close to God and that I know how to help everyone else get close to God. Then in backstage vignettes they would catch me smoking and walking in to rooms with scantily clad women...something like that. Could be an interesting character.

Believable Or NOT!!!!
by Sweetp0985 ini don't know about everyone else but i just want to get these stories of godly/demonic intervention out of my system.
hope it doesn't bore you but some are a good laugh now but i truly believed them and some i still believe.. 1. don't open that cabinet- one day my dear step mother was cleaning the kitchen and needed something out of a cabinet that was rarely used.
there was a plastic cake dish that makes this very audible noise when trying to close it(lil cheap cake from winn dixie).

This is one from my mother, I was around 4 at the time I believe. My mother accompanied a sister to a bible study. When we (I was with them) went into the house the woman already had 3 glasses of orange juice poured and on the table. My mother and the sister graciously accepted the offer, due to my asthma medications orange juice hurt my stomach (the medication actually caused an ulcer) so I declined and went off to play apparently. While during the study everytime this sister or my mother went to grab literature from their bags, the bag would have been moved to the other side of the room. This happened around three times, then a large cross fell off of the wall and onto the table they were studying on nearly hitting the sister. My mother and the Sister decided to leave there.
Now this is where it gets wierd (I guess). I don't remember why but apparently I had to sleep in my mom's bed this night (I'm guessing it had something to do with them letting me play alone in a demonized house) and in the middle of the night my mom wakes up to someone choking her. It's completely invisable and strong, she can't break the grasp. Finally she manages to utter "Jehovah" and miraculously it goes away. The next day at the meeting, my mother talked to the other sister and she had the same expirience. I slept through the whole thing. They say I was lucky I didn't drink the orange juice, I'm guessing it was professional respect.
