If I see a hungry people and I am able to help, I do. ~ If I see a Hungry Dog, which happens to be a Carnivore, I help them too. I accept the fact I can't save the entire world but I can try to do my part. Just my thoughts.

dogs and LIFE
by hamsterbait indoubt this will realy make a thread - .
i am just dumbfounded that the average american family dog is fed more animal protein per week than the average indian gets in a month.. how can we justify taking fish from protein starved peruvians and feeding them to our dogs?.
is it fair to say that the birth of an american baby is a greater disaster for the world than that of 25 indian babies .

Does your JW baptism still mean anything to you?
by JH in.
all i know is that jesus said to get baptized.
he didn't say in what religion though.. although i don't go to meetings anymore and don't plan on going anymore, i'm still glad that i was baptized.

When I was baptized, I was baptized to God, not an Organization so I consider my Baptism when I was a JW Valid.

When did it dawn that parents are fallible?
by Spectrum inhow old were you when you realized that your parents were fallible and, that lastest slap you got was unjust?
for me i realised at about 9 years old, neither of my parents understood fairness.
in my family there were the haves and the have nots.

I realized my parents were Fallible when I was about eight years old..
Fortunately, I realized how very "human" my mother really was many years later when she shared with me what it was really like to raise eight children with an alcoholic husband. She died in December of 1999. I wish I had learned about my "real" Mom sooner. (by the way, we weren't JWs)

JWs and depression
by jstalin inquestion:.
it seems that there is a high rate of depression amongst jws.
does the jw religion cause depression, or are depressed people drawn to the jws?.

I believe a good friend with a Listening Ear is just as good as a psychologist. The Sad thing about the JWs is there is NO Such Thing as a Good Friend because they''ve been conditioned to "Rat" on each other.
When I was a JW, they were discouraged from obtaining professional help; I doubt that has changed. The only solution is to "Hold it In" and that's not Healthy emotionally or physically.

Thanks for the Summary Drew. It's no wonder JWs are so bored; sounds like the same stuff I heard over and over 20 years ago!

My Witness sister is going insane and falling into depression
by free2beme inas i grew up, my sister was always a pretty strong person.
when she was 21 she got baptized after she married a worldly man, and they have been married 17 years.
he never went into the religion, and never even attended one meeting and has told me that he never will.

**MUST READ** AlanF's email to Knocking.org
by sf inthis is a must-read that, hopefully, will stay an "active topic" for all seekers and lurkers, by bumping it to the top as often as possible.
alan wrote it in randys {dogpatch} thread regarding knocking.org documentary and in reply to the email mr. engardio sent to barbara anderson.
however, it is so vital a read that it indeed needs its own thread:.

It's unusual for an Engineer to be so well written.
