Reveal article: Jehovah’s Witnesses settle suit alleging cover-up of child sex abuse
by AndersonsInfo inhttps://www.revealnews.org/blog/jehovahs-witnesses-settle-lawsuit-alleging-coverup-of-child-sex-abuse/.
by trey bundy / february 17, 2017 .
the jehovah’s witnesses settled a lawsuit this week brought by a pennsylvania woman who says the religion’s leaders covered up sexual abuse she suffered as a teenager.. the settlement came five days into a trial in which stephanie fessler, a former jehovah’s witness, claimed the religion’s parent corporation violated pennsylvania’s child abuse reporting laws by instructing local leaders – known as elders – not to report her allegations to police.. according to fessler, a middle-aged jehovah’s witness woman, terry monheim, began sexually abusing her when she was 14. at 15, fessler disclosed the abuse to her parents.

Have the Elders ever been instructed by their bethel to call the police for abuse?
by StephaneLaliberte inright now, there are a lot of talks on this topic in quebec and, at the mid week meeting, they are reading the letter sent in 2002 where it states that the elders will call the authorities if the law forces them to.
the strange thing is, it looks like even when there are laws to that effect, jws seem to believe that it does not apply to them.
for instance, i know that they do not report anything in quebec, even if it is the law!

Occurred in mandatory reporting state, USA. Explicit instructions from HQ. Apparently to satisfy letter of law and also keep congregation out of it. approx 10 - 15 years ago. Don't know if current practice

They Offered Their Son Willingly—To Bethelite Brothers
by betterdaze inthey offered themselves willingly—in new yorkricky, a construction project manager in hawaii, was invited to serve as a commuter bethelite to assist with the warwick project.
his wife, kendra, wanted him to accept the invitation.
however, they had a legitimate concern: the welfare of their 11-year-old son, jacob.

It's truly amazing what some people on this forum find to complain about. What a ridiculous thread and comments.

3 years to build 54 halls? And spin that as progress? Wow
Their manner of speaking is totally unnatural. Creeps me out. I'd rather watch actual robots.

Interesting that property damage should be promptly reported to the police in contrast with child abuse reporting policy.

Pale says he's separated from his wife and also calls her his ex. I thought that meant he's still married?? Married with a girlfriend?? Doesn't seem OK to me if that is the situation.
