If you are going to misspell a word in a comment about education, it might be wise to refrain from capitalizing it. Or is that public edurmacashun at work?

Home schooled witness kids
by stillin insorry if i'm stepping on any toes here, but i haven't seen anything positive about home-schooling...at all.
the notion is that parents are taking advantage of the formative years to inculcate more worthwhile values while protecting their kids from worldly influences.
they end up with lazy, socially inept, illiterate duds who haven't a clue.

Virtually without exception, apostates are some of the most socially inept, uncharismatic, uneducated, lackluster, lazy, welfare-prone bunch that can be imagined. And most, if they have any gumption, bolt for the door the day they turn 18. Turn into drugged-out, atheistic fornicators and adulterers. Seen it happen over and over and over.
Sad really. I know there are exceptions to the rule, but as a whole, that's what usually happens.

How to accept the actions of the Old Testament God
by confusedandalone inhow are we able to do this.. this is not an attempt to stir the pot or cause confusion but i was sitting here thinking of all the really horrid things that the old testament god did to people.
when i was a jw i just purposely put it to the back of my mind always trying to make an excuse.
when i was in field service and someone would ask me about it i would just change the subject.. however i have been reading alot of info lately here about how wonderful jesus is and how he is a direct representation of what god the father would be.

A god who can create the universe is so far beyond us that it would be arrogant to think that we could understand him. We are less than atomic particles on the scale of the universe but we can't seem to remember that.
God has an infinite view of time and the power to change anything that has happened. A person dying is simply going to sleep for a short time. Less than an instant in the grand scheme of things.
Sure it is hard to fathom, but then given the statements above, how could humans expect to? Maybe in a thousand years I will understand better.

A Challenge for Jehovahs Witness Apologists : Identify What Jesus Christ Has Accomplished In His Nearly Complete 100 Year Reign From 1914
by smiddy ini for one would be very interested , if you can quantify what his acheivements have been , these past almost 100 years .. incidental acheivements could do for a start ,.
followed by more meaningfull acheivements ,.
then to top it off , with his major acheivements that he can be accredited with these past 99 years of his kingdom rule ,.

I'm curious . . . what's the motivation behind these 'challenges'? Is it meant to offer another opportunity for a round of self-congratulation on how smart the ex-JW's are compared to JW's? Maybe it has a broader target, atheists vs. christians of all stripes? since it begs the question of what has he been doing since resurrected.

Evolution of the Eye
by zound inafter doing some research on the evolution of the eye, i compiled this simple explanation of the key points.
anyone with greater knowledge please correct anything mistaken - and questions / comments welcome.
any writers that want to correct grammar/sentence structure issues would be great also.. .. .. .. an eye, simply put, is photoreceptors + structure.. the structure can be something as simple as a cup-shaped depression or pinhole lens, or as elaborate as our camera eye, an insects compound eye, or the mirror eyes of a scallop.

So how was it again that your photoreceptors hooked up with the brain and optic nerve? The only thing crazier than believing in a creator is not believing in one

Sydlik's wife used to wrap an arm around his back during prayers in Bethel dining rooms. GB must have jumped at chance for new rule after he died.

My JW Experiences and Living in No Mans Land
by wizzstick inlots of proper pioneering (90 hours), lots of calls, lots of studies, lots of interest.
enough to make it all interesting.
driving this buzz was the sense that armageddon was imminent.. my father was never a jw, and was very opposed.

I'm more or less in the same no man's land that you describe.
There was lots of crap throughout Israel's history and 1st century christianity. Doesn't mean that God wasn't using them in spite of it.

1 Cor 9:7 Let each one do just as he has resolved in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
