awesome movie...i am not that much of a johnny depp fan but he was absolutely brilliant in this...but his wonderful acting is not required to carry the whole movie.
it is extremely entertaining, and the special effects are excellent.. i was just wondering if anyone else had a chance to see it?

Great movie. Had the pleasure of watching it in the company of a very hardcore group of dubs. I could hear the whispering comments and feel the disapproving stares of the little dubbies as the movie ran on but I ignored them and continued to watch it.
The most fun I'd had with some dubs in awhile.
i have worked that out b/c they r 6 million members, and they print 24 million wts.
Also consider the fact that most of the rags end up collecting on some shelf at the JWs home.
boy...I sure can attest to this fact.
there is a huge stack of them my wife collects and refuses to throw away on the nightstand in the guest room of my house.

the society has really been pushing hard lately (i know, like always) to do more and reach out.
there is at least one reason for do this that i can think of.
i have many friends around the country and they went to the elder school last year.
because you have fewer capable men to handle problems.
I'd hardly describe the JW elders I know as being capable of anything.....
almost the majority of us know that there is a secret book just for the elders which is called "pay attention..." everybody knows that the society defends herself saying that the book is not secret becasue it was shown to the witnesses in an assambley and there is a picture of it in the book proclaimers so she askes how the book could be a secret.
well, acccording to my dicctionary for learners of english says: secret; something that is secret is known about by only a small number of peple, and is not told or shown to anyone else.
so the book is secret.
They are not even suppose to use cordless phones when talking about sensitive matters as there may be a chance of someone listening in.
Interesting then that they'll always have a second elder "listening in" on phone conversations in an effort to catch a suspected apostate at something.
this double life is slowly eating away at me.
i'm planning to fade away and need all the ideas i can get.. it needs to be a fade because my parents, who i care deeply about are heavily into it and my poor hubby is wanting to obtain more privileges in the cong.
me, on the other hand, can't stand going to so many meetings and service and giving parts, etc.. very much appreciate your ideas and support.
Just the other day my husband in so many words told me that we got married by the Organization and if I told him I wanted nothing with the Organization then that would be pretty much the end of our marriage.
With thinking like that this man is not married to you, he's married to the organization. It's going to be quite hard to do any kind of fade, where the spouse, especially a male one who already relishes in the "I've got the penis" headship principle and is looking to his wife to set the proper example so that he can gain more privileges.
Though you say you love this man dearly, I suspect you already know that if to him your marriage is primarily based upon allegiance to the organization, then it's no marriage between you two at all. It's really a shame how JWs will resort to that threat\fear tactic to impose their will on the other.

in the dec k/m of australia, the literture offer for december is "you can live forver" book.
i assume that the offer is the same in other countries.. i think it really shows how the wts doesn't have respect even for its own version of truth.
the "live forever" supports the old theology of the "generations", which has being removed since 1995. they should at least destroy these books which teach what they don't even believe, but they seem to be interested in getting same money for them.
Guess they have a warehouse of unplaced book they've got to get paid for and rid themselves of. What better way than to make it the "offer of the month" and force those poor dubbies to pay for them if not through the counter when they pick them up, but also through the congregation as a monthly bill.
