Yeah, I've got a good one!
....oh wait, that was coffee with a friend last week. Nevermind. Field service meetings sucked.
oh, yes those wonderful meetings for service.
for some reason, they are so long and disorganized and boring.
seems no one wants to get out there in the territory.. i remember in one hall when i was a teenager, a ministerial servant, about 50 years old, would conduct the midweek meeting for service at the kh at 9 am.

i have not been to a kingdom hall for years, about 6. i have been going to other churches, namely, unity, unitarian and tonight a jewish reform temple.
what i notice at all of these churches is one recurring theme: they all serve snacks, coffee and punch in the foyer before and after the services.
this is really nice and i truly enjoy it!
Remember when they had food at conventions? Those fluorescent roast beef sandwiches were the best. I don't know where they got the bbq sauce from, but I just loved it.
Then they took that away. They also took away one of the dramas. I'm surprised they still HAVE one drama left. Eventually they'll probably take that one away and make people eat ouside of the convention area.
i know this happens among the jw girls too.
i had seen this many years ago as a jw but a couple recent circumstances i have been informed of this happening now as well.. young jw males dating non-jw girls.
some still active, some fading (not because of questioning jw doctrines), perhaps just wanting a bit of the wild side.
Young JW males dating non-JW girls.
I did that. Now that I look back on it, it was a strange experience. You know how paranoid I was about getting caught? I was always worried that someone from the KH would see me and report me.
After I started doubting, I didn't care if I got caught.
trying hard to be tolerant... would much rather hear the music he is practicing to...than just the plain drumming.. his uncle sent him a complete set of ludwigs from the 60's.....now set up in the house........ arrrrrgggg~.
r.. .

If you don't like them, ship them to me :D
Last time I checked, Jaracz was still an asshole.
so a good friend of mine e-maild me today with this information.
aparently brother hurd says as of 2010 all the magazine printing and distribution will be moved to canada.
the only printing the us will do is the books.
The whole Health Care angle is a very good angle to look at. The other may also be the economy. The economy here in Canada isn't as shitty as it is in the US.
Also, Ontario's loaded with the pulp and paper industry. It makes sense to move printing there since it'll reduce cost of shipping.
....to get in my car, drive the one hour to selkirk, and attend the three day convention.
and what warmer way to be invited than to find a cheap piece of paper in my mailbox.
christ, when did they start printing stuff like this on bible paper?
I'd scan it, but I don't feel like it. If you saw last year's, all you need to do is change the picture on the front to a bunch of people walking in a straight line out of a thunderstorm and into a sunny area. Woooo.
my computer is with the geek squad currently to rid it of this winpc anti-virus.
the guy who is repairing my computer is ian and he's a member of the geek squad.
he has two other computers he is trying to rid of the same virus.
It doesn't even work under Windows! :D
i remember thinking growing up that i wasn't sure it was the true religion but because my family were so sure of themselves and so many people believed it that i loved and respected it had to of been the truth.. then, i reasoned that because we were the only ones who fulfilled the preaching work that there was no other way any other religion could be the true religion except us.
plus, we used jehovah's name and didn't take it out of the bible but the preaching work was really the main thing that kept me in.... i was always afraid to really study just the bible because i knew a ton of things might not be right.
otherwise, why would so many jws be afraid to run into a greek scholar out in field service.
I'm not really sure. I think the whole beard thing is what made me question things a lot. I mean, the publications showed Jesus with a beard, but his dad wouldn't let us measley earthings have beards? That's not right. Another thing that really didn't help was when I approached an elder about the abuse I suffered at the hands of my mother, and he told me how much of a pillar my mother was in the congregation. Pillar my ass.
When I quit going to meetings, I pretty much shoved everything into a closet in my brain and left it there. However, back in 2001 I stumbled across a link to Freeminds from another site, and I sat there reading for three days, deprogramming myself. I wish I knew who posted that link on the message board I was on, because I'd love to thank them.

This has to be the WORST way to get converts. Who in their right mind is going to drive all the way out to bum f#ck Egypt for a three day convention hosted by a group of magazine salesmen? They SERIOUSLY need a celebrity endorsement because Jehovah and his worldwide destruction isn't cutting it anymore. How about Prince? You throw Prince in the FREE ATTENDANCE convention to sing a couple of Kingdom Melodies, and people will flock!
