Well here in Aust. we are paying $1.04 per litre,
Our dollar is at about 60c US so thats 1.04 X .6043 US exchange rate=$0.63US
x 3.8ltrse per gallon= $2.39per gallon US or $3.95per gallon AU
Is that right?
my maths is a bit rusty.

History of Head Covering for JW Women
by UnDisfellowshipped init is not a case of her being appointed to conduct a congregational meeting.
in such cases the dedicated brother should offer the prayer, and the sister may conduct the study with her head covered.
for if a woman does not cover herself, let her also be shorn.1 cor.

I went to the Assembly....
by teenyuck ini was at home and a man came to the door...i knew immediately he was a jw brother, however, he was quite handsome (no offense) and very well built.
he looked like a cross between brad pitt/tom cruise/evan marriott.... he wore a very nice dark gray suit that formed perfectly to his sculpted muscles...he had a very nice book bag.
black, brushed silver hardware.

I have had many dreams about going to assemblies over the past few years. It is usally a humiliating experience, sometimes I suddenly realise I'm naked or wrongly dressed. Sometimes Im doing something 'wrong' at the assembly and have this terrible feeling I'm going to get caught.
I haven't had one since I've been on this forum though.

Interesting UK Daily Mirror Article

Avery good article, red.
It made me cry, then it made me mad, then it made me realise that Bush could have done that, I never thought about it before. I hate the anti-American BS too, I am constantly reminding my husband that if it wasn't for America, Australia would be Japan right now.

What's The Worst Pressure You Endured Because You Were A JW?
by minimus inwas it internal or external?
i know of some that pioneered because they felt they had to.
we know of many that felt awful because they were ridiculed because they were witness children and had to get baptized and face school pressure, all the while hating it.

My worst pressure was at 14 yo was feeling that I had to tell my dad that he was no longer my father and that Jehovah would be my father from now on. This was because my dad was disfellowshipped and my mum had divorced him. My mum and an elder we were studying with put a lot of pressure on me that this was the only way to prove my commitment to Jehovah.
I shunned my dad for 15 years.
It made me miserable.

Finally received our "shepherding call" today
by Jourles init was inevitable.
after dodging the bullet for a few weeks, the elders finally made their way to our house today.
the reason i think this to be so, is because he asked me what he should write down for my report.

This is very interesting.
We recently had a phone call from elders in our new congregation which we have never attended after moving into their territory. They wanted to do a 'shepherding call' we were immediately suspicious and thought somone had 'dobbed us in' for something.
My husband told them in a very polite and friendly tone that we were quite happy and fully understood our current position and don't really need a call, thanks all the same. The Elder said ' I will have to see if we can accept that.' or something very similar. So now we are not sure whats going to happen but we hope that's the end of matters.
I wonder what they'll put about our heart condition?

9. Thank them for their loving concern.
8. Ask them "Why are you here?"
Then pretend to fall asleep because my meds were so strong.
