  A Special Occassion and a Bottle of..???

  it`s time for a drinking thread!

  !..bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!..when you want to celebrate,what is your favorite alchohol beverage?..i mean the one you normally woudn`t buy,but you will on a very special occassion.....18year old highland park scotch for me.....whats your favorite special occassion drink?

  The local liquer store has Mead, here anyway These guys make a pretty good mead: http://www.skyriverbrewing.com/ but I'm not sure you'd want to order a case just to try it. We prefer the "dry" mead.. the sweet is really sweet. Ask at anyplace you can buy booze, they should be able to point you in the right direction.

  We ordered a case of mead for our "ring exchange" (we got married at the court house, so we had a family event later) We wore our Ren garb and drank mead.. it was a blast.. all the men were in kilts.. lotsa leg

  Who is to "blame" men or women???

  there seem to be lots of threads lately that talk about relationships and sometimes it is not easy to summaries everything in a sentence or two.

  so we might put an emphasis on one thing to make a point and not on overall picture, which sometimes can leave a wrong impression.

  im by no means an expert when it comes to relationships, but have been through few and have got some experience, i hope so anyway.

  People play too many "games" in their relationships. Both sexes are equally guilty of this. If people would learn to stop playing games and learn to be honest and communicate they would get along much better.. or else figure out that they aren't right for each other and save themselves some years of misery.

  both side have equal power there.

  I agree with that in general, but sometimes one side wants it more than the other.. I think this is where resentment and finger pointing come in. If I want it more than he does I can work like mad at it for years and not end up with a happy healthy relationship. (been there) Again, this is a gender nuetral issue.. it can happen on either side.

  My relationship with my husband (current one, not first one) is fantastic. Half the time we do know what the other is thinking, the rest of the time we have no inhibitions to expressing whats in our minds and hearts. I couldn't be happier.

  Children + Xmas = Confusion!

  hi everyone, i must say this is a very interesting site my problem at the moment is this- i live with a fantastic guy (ex jw) he has 2 boys, 9&11, & i have a son - 9, we all live toghether as a 'blended' family .

  unfortunately his ex-wife is a very difficult person to deal with.

  she has recently had her contact with her son's reduced to 6 hours a week.

  I think that you are doing the only thing you can do in setting a good example for these boys. Show them what sanity looks like so they know that's not what they are seeing in their mother

  Just being there for them and having a good time with christmas etc. and not being struck dead by god for doing so, should show these boys whose right and whose loony.

  MEAD!!! We love mead!

  Sailor Jerry's Rum is a favorite too. Hubby doesn't normally like rum, but we both drink Sailor Jerry's straight up!

  VO is a staple in the liquer cabinet.

  When we go out I like long islands.. but only when they make em right.

  Beer is good, as long as it's not the watered down crap like bud or coors.. Guiness is good...we like to try microbrews. Arogant Bastard is pretty tasty.

  I like red wines, but haven't settles on a favorite, tend to like merlots.

  I haven't had a good tequila in awhile.. may have to buy some..

  My mazda protege has 340,000 miles on it and still averages 35mpg.. I need to give it a tune-up.. and should probably replace the head gasket.. but other than that there's nothing wrong. I bought it in '94 when it was 2 years old and had 20,000 miles on it, so I guess I've gotten my moneys worth.

  well, i got this in an email (from someone who thinks the bible is a loving and beautiful book) and i believe it's a crock.

  Pharaoh’s chariots?

  Some unsolicited evidence also came our way concerning the alleged chariot wheels of the Exodus (which have never been made available to any archaeologists, Bible-believing or otherwise). There is a Jonathan Gray video purporting to show these on the bottom of the Red Sea. In one part, Gray claims that a ‘British Admiralty chart’ he is holding shows a ‘sand bridge’ with great depths either side.

  The hydrographic office of the UK Ministry of Defense is, by international agreement, the authority for charting the Red Sea. A Mrs M. H. sent them the video; they wrote back to her that:

  • Gray’s chart could be positively identified on blowups as United States chart no. 62020.

  • ‘Contrary to Mr Gray’s statement, the “sand bridge” is not now, and never has been, a recognizable feature on British Admiralty Charts. Nor is it recognizable on the U.S. chart held by Mr Gray.’

  • Gray’s comments about the ‘great depths’ also mislead.

  • The naturally lit video footage of the sea floor could not possibly have been filmed anywhere near the spot claimed by Gray, as insufficient light would penetrate at that depth.

  Subsequently, Gray published a second letter from the same office, claiming it vindicated his claims of a ‘sand bridge.’ However, when we checked with them, they wrote that their comments had been ‘seriously edited,’ with ‘selected parts’ shown under their letterhead. The full letter, which they sent us, ‘does not confirm the existence of a “sand bridge.”’

  In short, whenever we have had the opportunity to objectively assess any of these claims, the same pattern emerges as from our ‘Ark’ investigation

  but i avoid people who are "users".

  you know the type....always taking, never giving, always looking to take advantage of someone......and i don't like liars all that much either.
