does that mean we would have to listen to wheezy jazz whenever we wanted to go up?

i'm a bartender and love a good cocktail!
key lime pie martini.
1 1/2 shots vanilla vodka, preferably stolichnaya or 3 olives.
hey that Blue Motorcycle and Kansas City IceWater is called an Adios M***** F***** in CA(two of them and it is 'adios MF'er'...). And if you take the basic Long Island IcedTea mix and substitute Amaretto for the Triple Sec and Cranberry Juice for the Coke you got a Boston IcedTea Party.
The Screaming Orgasm is good too...but it has been around for so long I didn't think it was a novelty anymore:
1 shot of vodka(vanilla vodka is a new twist)
1 shot of Baileys
1/2 shot amaretto and 1/2 shot kahlua
^ big thing at the ski resorts about 15 yrs ago. Without the vodka and equal amounts of each liquer it is just a regular Orgasm. Can be awkward to order in a bar--especially a loud one where you have to scream and the music suddenly stops as you are ordering it from a cute waiter....

I always called that Butterball a Sugar-daddy....
I love a single malt whisky, a sweet dark rum and a good bourbon... but I can't stand tequila.
I like gin too..prefer gin martinis...'martini' is my nickname from way back....something to do with a cruise I went on...can't remember exactly....

Kentucky KoolAde
1 dry envelope (2 qt size) of Wyler's or Crystal Lite artificially sweetened Lemonade(must be artificially sweetened--does not work with regular sweetened or unsweetened for some reason)
1 -2 liter(or 2 qt) of gingerale-minus two cups(16 oz.) --(you can use Mountain Dew but it is sweeter)
2 cups of Kentucky Bourbon
In large pitcher mix bourbon and dry lemonade mix, slowly add gingerale.
serve over ice.
mmmmmmm a Summer favorite of mine!

a few days ago i sent a message to an elder(one of the ones from my jc) asking him if he could get in contact with my girlfriend because i was very worried about her.
after the meeting tonight he asked if he could have a chat with me outside the hall.
he explained that he could not get in contact with her, as she was out of his jurisdiction.
I'm with Mike-Bendrr, WHY can't you do something about this? if you are too far away, definitely call a suicide hotline and ask advice and pass on the info. but please don't feel the elders have any 'jurisdiction' over your conscience because they don't!

it took me over a month of reading every night before bed, but last night i finished reading crisis of conscience.
i was amazed by what i read.
the extent of disregard for peoples feelings and lack of human kindness to those who had given a major part of their lives to theocratic service, made me sick.
I had a sister tell me that the reason she would NOT read CoC was because she knew it was right and as long as she didn't read the book she didn't have to do anything about it. She had no vested interest to protect either. She came from a loving non-JW family and did not get baptized until she was about 27, so she also had friends and had already gone to college. And she was not looking for a husband. she was not a pioneer. She had no reason to stay in.

i just came back from nine weeks on the road and one of the things i do miss are my kitties!
my daughter calls, e-mails and writes me all the time when i'm away but the cats have a limited vocal range and are not big on writing!
but after they punish me for being away, any of you who have cats know what i am talking about, they warm up to me and it is nice.
I love my putties! three putties and one dog.

remember the old issue in the ministry school guidebook re theocratic terms.
well can i ask for some one to help me with " posting terms explained " .
i know i have had a sheltered life but what do those acronyms mean - btw lol borg (i can guess that one but it could have a number if subtle differences) etc etc i think i can guess some of them but can anyone give some definition to all those odd little expressions used in posts here - which are fine if you know the meaning - but for boring old ***** like me i havent got a clue?
****!

pork chop and in_between_days seem to think i am the only one on this board who is bitter and feels occasionally violent toward the borg...what do you think?.
i have been called low life scum because i made a comment (after being provoked) about not caring if all jws died of antrax.
honestly, there are days i really feel that way.
I just found this and thought it might be an interesting item for this topic...
From PSRA(Pagan Survivors of Ritual Abuse), The Green (The Newsletter of
Religion: Other), Samhain, 1994. Column Editor: Phoenix MacMorgan
USAGE: To aid in the healing of those who have been abused.
APPROPRIATE DAY/NIGHT: New Moon or The Day before Samhain, or any
day/night.
REQUIREMENT: A mirror. Burning Sage. String. A contained Fire.
The leader should cast the circle in whatever manner they feel is most
appropriate. The Leader should then bring in each participant
individually, saying, "You are now entering sacred space. Nothing evil
can remain here, The only bonds that hold you in this circle are the
bonds that you allow."
After all are in the Circle, close it, saying, "this Circle is sacred
space. All here belong to the Gods and Goddesses and to themselves."
Lead everyone to the East, saying, "This is the East, the quarter of
Air. " Take burning sage and cleanse each person, saying, "let the wind
blow and cleanse you from all that has been done to you in the past.
Breath deep the first breath of your new life."
Next, go to the South, saying, "This is the South, the quarter of Fire.
Take a string and loosely bind each persons hands, saying, "This is that
which binds you, and holds you back from owning yourself. Break free,
and let the Fire burn away all of your past. It has no hold on you now."
Allow them to free themselves, then burn the strings.
Next go to the West, saying. "This is the West, the quarter of water."
Take Water and bathe each persons hands and face, saying. In the West
you are reborn, with the water you are made pure."
Finally go to the North, saying. "this is the North, the quarter of
Earth. In the earth we bury our past and our grounded in our new lives."
Hold a mirror up to each person and have them look into it and repeat
after you. "this is my body and mine alone. I reclaim myself as pure and
holy." It may take a person some time to say the words and face the
mirror. Don't let them look away if possible.
Bring everyone back to the center, saying: "you are free. Your Bodies
are temples and holy and only you decide who shares them and on what
level. Having reclaimed yourselves, go forth in joy and strength."
Dismiss the circle. This ritual is very powerful. Do not work it with
other ritual work, and make sure all participants are aware of what will
happen.
