I know you guys are ahead of us, but we just had the episode where David was hearse-jacked and almost burnt to death. It made me feel quite ill.

MOVIE MUSIC: No, not songs; knowing the Score!
by Terry inever since my mother took me to that sci-fi movie when i was 4, i've been aware of what movie music does to persuade us that what is onscreen is something we can identify with emotionally.
filmmusic has had many incarnations from the guy with the piano in front of the silent film making it up as it happens on screen to the symphonic scores of the golden age of film to the proliferation of pop tunes that are "dialed in" and "dialed out" by contemporary directors.
the truly long-lasting classic films have stand-alone music that lives after them.

And it's tragic that we don't get milestones for Iraqi civilian deaths.

POLL - Did you pay for literature?
by writerpen ini'm sure this has been done before, but thought i would start this poll.
how many donated for literature taken.
personally, i never gave a dime, yet ordered a lot of literature including "deluxe" bibles, cds, bound volumes, etc..
-
scotsman
No, I never donated apart from the few occasions that the accounts didn't balance and I'd have to make them.
Blondie & Leolaia,
While I may not comment on your posts, I do enjoy reading them. Don't become thread response whores, keep doing what you're both so good at.

Hero is fantastic. You should try and see Zhang Yimou's earlier films, they're brilliant.
The Motorcycle Diaries are excellent. Even if Gael Garcia Bernal wasn't so mouth wateringly beautiful, it would be good.

Crying at the movies
by Insomniac ini have a hard time expressing my emotions in front of others.
i mean, i'd rather be naked than to let anyone see me cry.
however, there are a few movies that can, in spite of my best efforts, make me bust out crying like a little girl: .

I've just seen HERO at a Film Festival and it's so beautiful in parts I cried. I think it was released in the States this weekend, go and see it if you can.
