  I spent many years studying history after I left. I had a lot of time on my hands.... Just study some good old ancient history.... you can track down the God concept thousands of years before christianity. You can see how that cultres basically "switched Gods around" and how belief systems developed.

  Start there.... then you will see how that when christianity developed... it was basically a form of control. I wont bother telling you the details... there are many many different opinions on it.

  But if you want something interesting to start with... Study the reasons why the cover of the bible says in big Gold letters.... The King James version. I mean ... everybody has their own version right? It basically came down to who had the biggest.... sword.

  I myself latched on to some of the Druidic structure of belief. Check it out... pretty thought provoking.

  Also, check out the history of Monks... it was basically sort of a way for some to remain silent, without offending the church. It became acceptable.

  ** when I say "study" I dont mean using Christian based material. You will find alot of conflicting information... Guess that is why they call it "faith". I guess you either feel a connection to the dweller of the heavens or you do not.

  Overall... you will find that the history of Religion.... has very little to do with God.

  I am not a political person at all... but I say... it's us or them. Big kat against little kat. If it were me I would take a few tons of nukes and stand on the corner of Iraq going "here kitty kitty....."

  Nose piercing problems

  hi, i wasn't sure which heading to post this under, but here goes...i got my nostril pierced in mid-january, and i have developed a keloid next to it.

  i am beside myself, i hate the keloid so much.

  has anyone ever gotten a keloid, and how did you get rid of it?

  I got my nose peirced when I was about 14.... many years ago, before computers.... just kidding I am only 33..... I also do not know what a keloid is... but I will tell you that I developed what looks like a tiny little mole or birthmark just below the peircing... it is not noticeable, but I have often worried that I may have done a stupid thing...... well... I did do a stupid thing, but you know what I mean... skin cancer or something. I still occasionally wear a tiny diamond in it... very occasionally... like once every year for a couple of days or something. For some reason it will itch, and wearing the stud is the only way to stop it... I dont know... I hope when you are my age your face doesnt fall off or something. If a "Keloid" can be removed... I would say go for it. whatever that is.

I spent many years feeling that way after leaving the religous structure. Like I did not belong. Art saved my butt. Tony Hutt is a photographer... he took a picture of this model... and I just saw the "shame" in the photograph... so I painted it... I did it in about twenty minutes. What do ya think? I still mix all my own colors... from the primaries... and use alot of leftover house paints.. but since my studio took off.. I can now afford real paint... I just like the old way better for some reason. Opinions alway welcome.... and no I am not gay... I am married, to lovely british woman.... the pecker was there, so I painted it too.

  the lion was play time painting though... I was just hangin out in the back yard one day, I found a photo of a lion drinking... but this one I did on a half sheet of plywood about seven years ago... it is called the burning man... has nothing to do with "hell" .....It is my belief that man enjoys pain and suffering in some twisted way. suffering brings people together(like this site)....

  I also "know how you feel" (boy I could post that message on half of these boards!) I dont "fit in" either. For years I let that get the best of me... kept trying to justify it... I mean they teach you to "be no part of the world" and then by the time you get the nerve up to leave.... you dont know how to be a part of anything else.

  I made it work for me though. You can too.... concentrate on the things that MAKE you different. With too much time alone on my hands, I began to play with some leftover exterior house paint and some ply-wood. Now ten years later... I am artist.

  What does it take to live forever?

  as a jw, we were told that we had to be saved in order to live eternally.

  do you still hope to live eternally, or did this dream fade away?

  When I was eight... this is what I wondered....

  How could you come back and live on a paradise earth... and be the same person? I mean, would you remember those others in you family, who "didnt make it in"? The experiences that each of us have had in life, all contribute to our personality now... the person we have become... so if resurrected exactly as we are now.... would be a contradiction. If my father makes it in.... then would he still like to fish?

  I know that is weird (consider the source though)

  It is my belief now, that "resurrection" and the concept of "re-incarnation" are somehow intertwined. That which is called "heaven" is actually just, the next step in the cycle of life.
  That each time we die, and are "re-born" in a different form, we learn different lessons. After we have learned all that is necessary in this physical form, we will then be ready to "ascend"... to a higher form. We will outgrow the need for physical forms. It is said... energy never dies... it changes form. ie... soul. Even science agrees that we are almost pure electrical impulses. However....

  For those of you considering returning to the JW's.... just read all my posts.... you will see that sanity can become.... an issue, if you continue with them. (kat newmas walks away, mumbling something about toe-socks.... and little shiny butterflies)
