Two things here.
(1) Who did jesus shun.
(2) It amazes me how an organisation will spend billions of dollars and countless man hours trying to get a new recruit, and yet will kick them out and forget about them at the other end.
when i look back at it, i must apologize to anyone that was disfellowshipped for the treatment we gave to you.
we clearly set ourselves up as judges and often viewed disfellowshipped persons as "dead"!
i hope anyone that is still in the congregation knows that this treatment is unchristian, unkind and unloving..

hello to all.
i've been on this site for a couple of weeks now posting here and there but have not had the opportunity to read about many of the regular members and what led up to their leaving the wt.. i understand that some of you (i'm part of this club) may not be able to disclose many details and i can appreciate that.. i'd love to hear what was it that finally made you renounce what is and hopefully soon to be "was" the wt.. i truly look forward to having good discussions.. thank you to all for your kind participation.. .
It was a number of things, and initially it wasn't my intention to look at apostate material. It was just a question I had that I was unable to find any statistical on it in the magerzines. So having exhausted all avenues there, I googled it and low and behold I had an answer with in seconds. It quite startled me actually, and from there the whole thing fell apart. I always believe direct apostasy never works. There always has to be a trigger point.
i wasn't looking where i put my feet, and i almost took the cart out!
anyway, i stopped and chatted with the people for a bit.
three women and a man -- an elder and his wife.
Don't be a hater be a lover.

That flag thing was so outrageous, that I accused the person of posting it as (I quote) bull sh%_ and been staged. Unbelievable.

I'm seeing a lot of parallels to this with the tight pants conspiracy. Hey I can see what your saying but to say that it was deliberate or in fact just someone with an over active imagination is another thing.
a close jw friend of mine, got married this weekend.ever since he and i meet (13 years ago) when we were both 18 we've been close and we've experienced different life experiences together.. our qualities, have complemented each other well over the years..he the voice of responsibility and reservedness, & i the voice of spontaneity and passion.i taught him about life and he taught me about perseverance through trial.. i care about justice, he cares about reputation.he is a better person then i will ever be, but so stricken by society.. i always stuck my neck out for him, but our friendship was the thorn in his reputations side.he was on the path to mts, and i was on the path of frivolity.despite all this.. when the 2 of us were together, free from the scrutiny of the outside world he was himself, and he was a great friend.
though naive about much, he always tried to do what he could to be a friend.. i was there when he and his now wife first started dating.. i envisioned him marrying her, and my wife & i spending many enjoyable times with them as a couple.. shortly after they meet my wife & i learned ttatt.. i explained my findings to him as i did with all my friends and family.
he being a person, whom i perceived to have great deal of biblical knowledge, i expected valiant effort coming from him to "help me" see where i had erred.all i got was a email with 3 irrelevant watchtower articles & some even more irrelevant scriptures.. i would have surely been his best man, but instead another mutual jw friend was asked.i am not da'd or df'd but this is the pseudo non-invitation that he sent :.
Yup they will drop you quicker than a hot cake if you speak your mind.
i`ve just received this from barbara anderson..it`s her interview with radio personality chuck morse..thanks barbara!...
morse, who is known for his free-wheeling and insightful intellectual style, was named to the list of heavy 100 radio talk show hosts by talkers magazine, and as the national right to work committee communicator of the year in 2003.
"i have developed a reputation for inviting guests who express opinions on all sides of issues.
In this country there have been 3 incidences of sex abuse involving JWs that have made headlines, and we are a very small country. One of these cases was very high profile of a notorious criminal involved in a murder trial.
great effort from the home side, even though they did get beat by the best in the world.. .

this jc from 1984 features a brother and his wife, who were evidently about to be df'd for apostasy.
but the brother knew his ttatt well.
the elders really couldn't muster any half-way convincing arguments to refute the damning facts on 607 and 1914. even 1975 was touched on.
