Yeah not used a lot here and I live out side the Americas and Europe. Mainly brother and sister. I had noticed it was a term commonly used by American witnesses.

Are they spirit directed I would probably have to say "No", going by all the failed hopes and promises, and terrible effect they have had on people's lives.

Sorry carrying on from my previous post. Using the example of King David. Yes he was imperfect and yes he made some pretty big mistakes. But the thing with the bible is the didn't try to hide it from the Israelite nation. I think Wt need to be a bit more honest and up front about its history and polices and procedures. Using myself as an example again. I learnt more about the watchtower and how it functions in 18 months than I ever did going to the Hall in just under 4 decades. Even now it stuns me how just how completely in the dark I was. I also think that a member if he chooses to disagree with them. He should feel free to voice his opinion with out fear of reprisals.

There are 2 replies to question 1. I can understand why they would insist that followers not go on the internet. Using myself as an example i would probably still be sitting inside the walls of the watchtower if it wasn't for the internet. So it can be quite a dangerous and formidable place to be when an apologist comes across a site critical to the Wt.
But on saying that if it is the truth and they are in fact imperfect individuals who make mistakes e.g king David.

I believe eventually they will be forced to hand over those files and some one at a senior level will have to take the witness box. If they lose on appeal they will just get steamed rolled if they don't.

Chaserious= very interesting point that all of us over looked. I suggest that you make this a different topic as it deserves it's own thread.

I'm going to give you of a case I know of. Young teenage girl. Real scatter brain, and got baptized at 16. Couple weeks later saw her in town dressed all goth like hand in hand with this none JDub guy. I just thought to myself "you silly silly girl", and get this her mother done exactly the same thing when she was a teenager as well. To my knowledge this young girl hasn't been disfellowshiped yet, but to be honest it wouldn't surprise me if she did. I think the mother and the elders need a massive drop kick for allowing this emotionally / hormonal vulnerable girl to do something that she clearly wasn't ready for.

I wouldn't be surprised if what you are saying is true. One thing is for sure "it's not the same organisation that i knew 20-30 years ago".
